Autumn TV Picks

Apart from the crisp leaves, warm drinks and cosy jumpers one thing about this time of year is the TV that's on. Its gone from having nothing to watch to everything coming back and its crazy. I watch a lot of TV for a girl my age and it goes from crime dramas to the girliest of programs, the scale is all over the place. I've mentioned some of my favourite shows before but now there's even more.

4 Shows to Watch this Halloween

tv to binge watch this halloween

I've talked about TV a great deal lately on here but its because I'm obsessed! Halloween is just around the corner and this whole 'halloween weekend' is the perfect time to watch something scarier than your usual tv program. Warner Bros have a wide selection of films and tv shows that you can choose from that will make this whole weekend spectaular just that little bit more terrifying.

These are my 4 recommendations to watch this halloween. Let's start with the most well known, The Vampire Diaries. Its a show you can watch all year round but binge watch it at this time of year to get you in mood - its about vampires, what more do you want. The show is a mixture between family affairs, saving the town and a love triangle. It is coming to an end soon as the actors decide to move on from their roles, which is such a shame because its brilliant.

The Originals is a spin off from the Vampire Diaries and its hard to explain without giving away the entire plot. But Klaus is the original vampire/werewolf hybrid and sets out to protect his family and his home town whilst battling with his several enemies. This show is a lot darker than the TVD and a bit more vampire based than real life but nontheless still an amazing show. I must point out, that you can't watch this without having watched TVD first because it all links together.

Moving away from the vampires and into the zombie terrority we have iZombie. This show takes some getting used to and a while to get into but worth the wait as it all starts to make sense slowly. Liv is the main charecter who turns into a zombie after attending a party, she can't hide the fact that shes turned so she ends up hiding it as long as possible until something happens to her memories and she starts to help solve murders. This isn't a scary show at all, more comedy!

Finally, we have Lucifer. Ahh Lucifer the one I'm currently getting through with my flat mates. Its safe to say that you can't just watch one of these and then switch the tv off, you have to carry on watching them. Lucifer is an angel from hell and is on earth as part of his vacation but he's ended up helping the LAPD catching criminals and solving cases. There's also something about Tom Ellis (Lucifer) that is just amazing and makes you want to watch it more, he's sarcastic, beautiful and funny!

If you'd like to win a Halloween TV Bundle for yourself to enjoy then head on over to my twitter as quick as you can, there's a competition running until midnight on halloween! Enter here.

Hope you all have an spooktacular halloween....

10 Must Watch TV Shows

I watch a great deal of TV. I don't know how I manage to watch it all with a 100 different things to do at the same time, but I do it. Watching something a day or having something to look forward to watching motivates me to get my work done (quicker but still the best quality) and it is like a little reward at the end of the day. I am that obsessed with watching different things, that in my room I have a weekly planner telling me what is on what day.

In today's post I am talking to you all about the programmes that you need to watch when you a) time on your hands b) need a good binging session c) when you are waiting for things to come back on and are tearing your hair out. There's no real order to this just list...

April Favourites

April? How is it over already, with just another few weeks until I officially finish sixth form,I am praying that time actually goes a lot slower. We are now well into spring and my favourites this month are inspired by the beautiful weather outside!

Max Factor Facefinity Primer//
When the weather gets nicer I tend to apply a lot less to my face, yet it still manages to come off within a few hours. The solution recently has been the amazing primer from Max Factor. I featured it in February's Favourites and it decided another mention (surprised I haven't done a review yet oops) because it is just that good.

Loreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte// If I talk any more about this foundation I think I may just run out of words, the soft consistency is amazing and goes on like an absolute dream to leave you with this medium to high coverage face that lasts all day. If you want to read a more in-depth review then you can read it here.

Max Factor Blush in Nude Mauve// Another product I just can't stop talking about and also wearing, it has got to the point where the puffiness of the blush has deflated and is now flat *sad face* I love the shade and it is perfect for everyday. To hear me rave about these even more, read the review here.

Maybelline Colour Elixir in Rose// This is a lip product that I bought a while back, didn't like it at all and now have fallen in love with because it looks amazing on top of nude lipsticks like the rimmel kate moss in 07 - ideal everyday lip combo.

BarryM Speedy in Heart Skipped a Beat// Spring isn't spring without the nail colours, am I right? It took me a while to bring out the summery colours because I was waiting for the perfect time and now it is officially time and this beauty from BarryM is a coral that looks stunning and not too orange either. This whole range is amazing and it takes very little time to dry as well, more here.

Chanel No 5// My ultimate spring and summer scent is anything sweet and strong, Chanel is basically the answer for everything. No 5 is a classic from the brand and I think that no one can go wrong with, I cry my little heart out though ever time I use it because of the money that is going with it..

April Favourites

Last month Starbucks celebrated the birthday of the frappuccino, and as a special they were selling a 'Birthday Cake' flavour drink. Of course, this was only available in the USA because in the UK were are so limited on the options we have available. But the StarbucksUK twitter said that you can still order it as a custom order, the only difference is that you don't get the raspberry cream. If you are interested in this delicious drink ask for a vanilla frappuccio with a shot of almond syrup!

April Favourites
This months favourite TV Show has to be Baby Daddy, it is amazing and about Ben who is a typical bachelor until he finds he has a daughter and then has to adjust to being a parent with the help of his mum and all of his friends. You watch one and you will be instantly hooked!
Another favourite has been 2 Broke Girls, something that I have been watching a long time but more recently the girls are really starting to grow their business and it's such a real life story through TV.

What TV shows have you been loving lately?

July Favoruites| Beauty, TV & More!

AUGUST? AUGUST? HOW ARE WE ALREADY IN AUGUST? It is so cliché saying I can't believe how quickly this month has gone, but in all seriousness where? Here are my July Favourites!

July Favoruites| Beauty, TV & More!

When I went to Germany I needed a face SPF that didn't stick to my face like glue and this was the one. It is a really thin formula and applies to the skin amazingly well, it sinks into your pores and fine lines as well to give you a overall matte look - doubling up as a primer too for the oily skin girls out there!

This body butter jsut smells like summer! It is so rich and sweet that when you wear it the smell comes off as though you are wearing a perfume. I haven't gone through this as quick as I have my other body butters from TBS because the smell can be a little bit sickening at times.

After months of searching for this Nicole kindly gifted it to me as a birthday present! The Little Mix eyes palette has been raved about since it came around because for the little  price you are getting 6 shades that are buttery, pigmented and long lasting. I really love the gold shade in here as an all over lid colour.

These two face products I have paired together as if I don't use one, I don't use the other! Why? Well because the cool undertones of the contour compliments the rose gold blusher really well and together they look divine.

The lipstick I have  been going back to over and over again this month is MAC's Please Me which is a stunning pink nude (of course it is!). It is a matte formula so it lasts all day and despite my intial thoughts of it been drying on the lips with plenty of lip balm underneath it goes on fine.

I do not know why I haven't mentioned these before because they are life changing. These magic nail drops work in a wonderful way, you apply a drop using the pipette on to your wet nails and allow it to soak in for about 5 minutes. Afterwards, your nails will be dry. Genius and A Life Saver!

The TV Favourite this month has been Criminal Minds, I am currently trying to catch up on all the seasons as I seem to have started from the latest series. Another one I have been loving is Nashville, so much drama! And one that has just started back in the UK is Devious Maids, full of drama, gossip and love - can't get enough!

January Favourites 2016

January has come and gone, I just can't quite believe it! Today I am sharing with you my favourites for this month, including makeup, tv and food!

Sometimes You Need A Night Off

And relaxxxx... with the stresses of everyday life as humans we sometimes forget that we need to stop. Let go of all our worries and problems, enter the world of zen and have some time to ourselves - ME TIME as I like to call it. Everyone relaxes in different ways, whether it be watching TV, cooking, reading or going to a spa like resort. Whatever it might be, do it more often. Take more time for you and start to realise that you need a night off. One of the my favourite ways to do this is having a cosy night in, pampering myself and going to sleep being on cloud nine.

Lets' Talk; Dealing with Stress.

Stress. The word is quite scary isn't it? But a word and feeling that we all have to deal with, some point in our life there will be times where we have to 'stress'. But don't be alarmed and have a breakdown I have a few helpful tips to help you out, and I've come to the point in my life where all I seem to do is stress and panic. Ultimately, relieving stress and calming ourselves down - whether through attending therapy, practicing self-care, or, through alternative and natural methods such as the use of terpenes - provides clear health benefits to the human body that cannot be denied.

Stress is a type of feeling that we get when we react to particular events and situations, it's basically your body's way of facing the challenge and preparing to meet that tough situation but with lots of other things mixed in like alertness and strength. So, what exactly is stress?

Some Handy Tips!
Dealing with Stress.
Image
Relieve the Stress - If you need something to help relieve you of the stress and help you calm down, try taking some psychoactive gummies. They can promote relaxation, foster sleep quality, calm nervousness, and support general mental health.

Get Some Sleep - Such a basic tip. but one that I and so many other people forget. Between school work, different activities and meeting up with friends, it can be really hard to get enough sleep, especially during the week when are brains are working super hard. They say that we all should really get about 9 hours sleep, but that seems like an impossible amount of time right? Well its not! To get every hour of sleep, cut back on watching TV or engaging in a lot of screen time in the late evening hours (i am guilty of this big time). Another thing is that try to avoid drinking caffeine late in the day because it won't kick in until later in the evening when you are ready to sleep.

Focus on your strengths - I also recommend spending some time really thinking about the things you’re good at, and find ways to do more of those things because trust me they will make you happy. Focusing on your strengths will help you keep your stresses down a little. For me, I find something relaxing like blogging! I love doing this when I feel stressed because it calms me down a little bit and reminds me that I can breathe.

Talk to someone - Its so much easier dealing with stress if you talk to someone about what it is that is bothering you so much, you may think that they don't understand but in fact they understand more than you think and will help you overcome your problem.

I decided to ask some of my friends too about how they deal with stress, and this is what they had to say..

Nicole - 'Talk to your mum about it if it gets tough, this means you can express you're feelings and have a good cry and not take it out on your friends because if they react in a bad way then you might loose them. Have a journal and write down any worries and thoughts and then you can think easily when your mind is clear on how to resolve them'
Aamira - 'If you feel that it's getting too much ie. the workload, the revision ect. take a break! Watch tv, browse the internet or get something to eat but make sure to limit your break time because the more you rest, the less motivated you'll be to work and the more work load and stress you'll have to deal with.'
Rachel - 'Listening to calming music, or roll around on the floor. Odd but it works'

If you deal with stress then let me know your tips on how you manage with it, and if you ever need someone to talk that isn't your friend or family member then feel free to talk to me!

An Autumn Night In

Has anyone else realised that the weather has gone really cold this week? Suddenly having to wear tons of layers, having the heating on and complaining about the weather has been quite the shock to the system. This weekend I am having quite the night in before another hectic few weeks at university start, what better time to do something for myself than when its cold? If you follow me on social media then you will also know that I have injured myself this week too, the other day when washing up I cut my finger on a glass and it has left me with quite the injury. It has also happened on my dominant hand, so I am restricted to doing most things - this night in, could not have come at a better time!

India Fashion Week London

India Fashion Week London
Source
When Fashion Week happens around the world I love seeing what things are on the catwalk and coming into trend next season. This year I heard about the India Fashion Week that was taking place in London and was all ready to go until some unforeseen circumstances happened and I had to cancel - but next year I shall go! Even though I wasn't there physically, I kept up with images and updates from the event and gazed at all the gorgeous outfits. Here is some more information about the star studded event and what went down...(via a press release from IFWL)

A late Indian summer crept into London this October 2015 with the launch of the first ever India Fashion Week London and a celebration of South Asian fashion with the 10 year anniversary of The National Asian Wedding Show at the ExCel London. The inaugural fashion week was opened by DJ Neev Spencer and Presenter Sonali Shah, both ambassadors of the British Asian Trust who came to show their enthusiasm for the growth of Asian fashion in the UK market. United in their appreciation of South Asian fashion, Spencer and Shah featured on the catwalk alongside former Miss India and Bollywood beauty Ms Neha Dhupia. Ms Dhupia rocked the IFWLondon catwalk in a Payal Singhal black cropped poncho, the border of which was lined with detailed gold work, and a nude pink lehenga skirt.
Ms Dhupia, who helped curate the event, said “my favourite moment was of course walking down the ramp in London for the first time as a showstopper and secondly cutting this really big cake – it was like five levels!” Without a doubt the National Asian Wedding Show spared no expense as it celebrated its 10 year anniversary with Ms Dhupia and STAR TV actress Pooja Gaur; its catwalk was litten up with an array of stunning bridal couture designs and fireworks displays that electrified a packed Sunday audience.
When asked about her views on South Asian fashion in India compared to the UK market, Ms Dhupia said “I feel like it has a lot of room to grow and fashion in India is way ahead. But the most important thing is it’s got a great audience filled with beautiful people who are very aware and fashion conscious. So it’s a work in progress and that’s where you have the National Asian Wedding show and of course India Fashion Week which can help to change everything”.
A sentiment echoed by the show’s organiser Manny Singh, Managing Director of the Platinum Group, who set out to revolutionise the South Asian fashion market in the UK by providing a platform for NEWGEN and British Asian designers through the inception of India Fashion Week London, “For the last decade the Indian fashion industry has moved from the embryonic stage to a globally respected powerhouse. Indian and British Asian fashion designers have contributed immensely to the spread of fashion as a driving force, both among Indian consumers and select segments of Western markets. Our market can now boast dozens of leading fashion designers, who can match any European fashion designer in their concepts, styles and designs.” said Mr Singh.
“Historically Eastern fashion has played second fiddle to a British Asian audience who have been heavily influenced by the west, but with the growth of western brands in India and mainstream British retailers introducing eastern tones and styles in their collections, we’ve discovered a host of designers who understand their collections need to be designed for a western mainstream audience. Gone are the days where an outfit can only be worn for one occasion, designers are producing outfits that can be mixed and matched with other garments and have the longeivity in a more mainstream wardrobe. India Fashion Week London and The National Asian Wedding Show brings these designs to the forefront under one roof and will educate the UK consumer about fresh, couture and fusion designs, whether they are Asian or not.”
In line with Singh’s objectives, IFWLondon and The National Asian Wedding Show played host to noted fashion designers Raishma Islam, Anjulee&Arjun Kapoor, Saloni Ruia, Ridhi Mehra as well as collections featured by Payal Singhal, Satya Paul, Neeta Lulla, Mansi Malhotra, Pavan&Pranav, Shyamal&Bhumika, Shantanu&Nikhil and Anushree Reddy. Many of whom were clearly inspired by British fashion throughout the ages, such as Raishma Islam’s Edwardian style jackets and Kaya Rajan’s use of bold coloured embroidered and lace braces.
Along with the multitude of fusion designers, the catwalks were home to international performing artist Bambi Bains, England Women’s Cricketer Isa Guha, former Desi Rascal Arshina Trivedi, and British singer Navin Kundra who delighted audiences as he delivered his own special fusion mix of John Legend’s “All of Me” in both English and Hindi.
Fashion enthusiast celebrities were out in full force both representing The British Asian Trust and to see the latest designs from these NEWGEN, British and Asian designers alike. In a crowd littered with familiar faces front rowers included Sky Desi Rascals reality TV stars Jo Shah, Moses Baig, Kavita Sodha and Schmoyel Zia Siddiqui, Indian television actor and host Karan Tacker, actress Amber Rose Revah, Miss London Supranational and model Katerina Christo, actress and model Sara Archer, model and fashion influencer Diipa Khosla, Zayn Malik’s sisters Doniya and Waliyha Malik, and Olympic medallist boxer Amir Khan’s sister and fashion influencer Mariyah Khan.

I am a huge fan of Neha Dhupia and it has just been announced that she is the leading lady for the 2016 show! She was a previous winner of Miss India and has been in some Bollywood films one of which is Dus and that is one of my all time favourites! I love that Indian designers are been recognized by the world for their amazing work, outfits like the ones below are stunning and deserve to be showcased in a grand event. In the picture below of all the models I am slightly obsessed with the outfit on the far left (pink and gold) I am slightly obsessed with the design and it looks like a wonderful bridal outfit!

Breaking Stereotypes

The weather in the UK has been bloody fabulous these past few weeks, when the sun makes an appearance so do all the British people! We're like bees! To make the most of the spring weather, I took the opportunity to meet up with Aamira one week and shot lots of gorgeous pictures. That girl knows Liverpool like the back of her hand and found the most gorgeous location. It worked perfectly with this floral outfit! Expect to see other outfits over the next few weeks.

Getting Organised| Why Lists Are You're Best Friend

Why Lists Are You're Best Friend
Here is a guest post I did recently..
Lists. Such a simple word yet to me and many of you it can mean our whole life, yet there are some people that try to mentally remember everything when they don't need to! Make a list, whether it be on a scrap piece of paper, a notebook or even on your phone; they make all the difference. Here are a few reasons why they are about to become your best friend..
1. A great way to organise your information
If you don’t organize your information, it can be thrown everywhere even a notice board can look messy, but if you take some time to separate it out into different topics or categories it’s a lot less messier and easier to understand. If you're moving house then list what items will go into what room. Simple!
2. They provide a simple structure
If you have to explain something to another human then a list is the easiest way to explain what you mean without using all these fancy diagrams and confusing everyone to death. All you need is the topic of the list and that is it!
3. Plan out your day
If you have a busy day or even week ahead then create a list of what you need to do and order them in highest priority and be sure to do them first. You can break the list up if there is so much to do and remember to ALWAYS give yourself a break! If you have lots of things to do, its much simpler to tackle them in smaller chunks then all in one go.
5. Make a list about anything
Whatever job you may be doing I am pretty sure that there are things you need to do in work and outside of work, sometimes its the simplest tasks that we tend to forget. If you're a blogger like me, then I love writing lists of different post ideas ect to keep me on track. Along with general everyday to-do lists to help me live a easier life.
6. They can be fun too
Lists don't only have to be used for all the serious things in life, but also the fun things! I keep a list of all my tv programmes that I watch, I seem to have that many I have to keep track of when the new season airs in the autumn/summer time - without this long list then I would be lost.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this post, and be sure to check out my blog
