Pixi Pretties Collection Review & Swatches

Pixi have my heart. I am yet to find one product from them that I hate/dislike, and now their latest makeup collection has got me loving them even more. The Pixi Pretties collection* is a range of makeup that they have released with different influencers. For once, a brand has done a collaboration with people who I actually know! All 5 women are people who I regularly watch on YouTube and adore, their makeup, style and whole personality is just amazing! Let's see how they work..

Pixi Vitamin C Range Review

I have two concerns when it comes to my skin, the first being spots and the second being scars. These two things are what I try and target everyday, to help reduce/minimise/go away. Anything that helps them becomes a favourite product of mine. When Pixi sent over their entire Vitamin C* range, I was very excited. I had heard so many benefits of using VC for scarring and hyperpigmentation, and I couldn't wait to get started and discover the benefits for myself.

#PixiLoves Eyeshadow Palettes Swatches and Review

Pixi pretty much knock it out of the park when it comes to skincare. More recently, they've started to launch makeup too. I still pinch myself when their PR packages come through the post, its such a dream! Their newest eyeshadow palettes came not that long ago and I couldn't wait to get playing around. I'm not the best at eyeshadow, never have been. When I wear any eye look, its simple and basic - so apologies that its a little boring.

Pixi 20 Years of Glow

Pixi are celebrating 20 years of glow! What an incredible achievement. In that time, they've created some iconic products, some of which they have kindly sent to me in the most gorgeous PR package. As a brand, Pixi have taken over my heart. I adore their skincare and makeup products, everything I have ever tried from them can be found under this tag

Pixi Toner Trio

Happy November! I really can't believe that there is only this month and next left of this year, it is going by way to fast. As November welcomes us, the skincare gods are crying out to us to start looking after the layers of our skin and that starts today. Right now. I had a bit of a pinch me moment last month, when Pixi very kindly sent me their toner family - still can't get my head around it. I have been trialling, testing and trying these and now have some things to tell you...

Pixi Rose: What Worked and What Didn't

I can't even express the excitement every time I get a Pixi parcel delivered to the door. Such a well known, high quality brand and little old me receives there gorgeous products to try - MIND BLOWN. A couple of months, the entire rose range arrived in a lovely pink, personalised travel bag. There was so much to choose from that I really wanted to get my teeth into all the products before sharing my thoughts. After a lot of trial and error, I've managed to put everything into a pile of works amazing and not so amazing/I can't seem to make them work. Some things work for some people and for others they don't.

Top 3 Pixi Milky Products

Pixi are one of many brands that I love. Their skincare and makeup is incredible and I am very lucky to be on their blogger PR list, its a dream. Everything I have tried from them, can be found under the Pixi tag, my love for them is indescribable. A few months ago, they very kindly sent me their Milky range, I thought instead of doing a round up post, I would share the 3 products that I have fallen head over heels for.

 3. Hydrating Milky Peel

This is a great at home peel for anyone who loves giving their skin some serious exfoliation. It retails for £24, which is cheaper than any peel you can have professionally.  The peel has a very cream like feel to it and is very easy to use and feels gentle yet clearing on the skin. It gets rid of dead skin cells, brightens the skin whilst not stripping the skins natural oils and drying the skin out.
I have sensitive skin, which is prone to breaking out. This peel hasn't (thus far) irritated my skin in the slighest. It gets a little red which is understandable but it makes it feel so soft and looks glowy after using. I tend to use this weekly.

2. Milky Tonic

Tonics are incredible for the skin and the Pixi ones are just out of this world. This tonic is infused with oat extract that helps to balance out irritated and angry skin. It smells incredible, but doesn't anger the skin and leaves my skin feeling nourished. I love using it after cleansing in the morning and patting it in to the skin as opposed to using a cotton pad. The tonic comes out of the bottle slightly cold, which made me start putting it in the fridge...not sure if you're meant to do this but I've had no issues so far with it. The cool, refreshing feeling of this liquid on my skin is amazing.

1. Hydrating Milky Serum

Serums are a product that I can't live without, I am seriously considering doing a whole post on my favourite ones because I love so many!
They are a great way of giving the skin some boost, and this one does just that. The white liquid seeps straight into the skin and makes the skin feel bouncy and supple. Its perfect if you have dehydrated skin, my skin has been so dry since being indoors for so many weeks and this serum has been the perfect addition to my routine to bring some life back. For me, this works much better at hydrating my skin than hyaluronic acid is.

I love this milky range and these three products have really sold me, I now need to try and see if I get along with the rest of the products...Have you tried this range?

Pixi Beauty On The Glow Blush Review

If there is one product in makeup that really scares me, its blush! I am always too afraid of putting on too much. Anything cream base scares me too, I've got more into cream contouring and naturally blush is the next thing. When the Pixi On the Glow Blushes arrived on my doorstep, I couldn't contain my excitement!

The Pixi Beauty On the Glow Blush tinted moisture stick collection comes in 3 different shades - Juicy (deep orange), Ruby (red) and Fleur (pink). These tinted moisture sticks come in a beautiful compact design, which makes them easier to carry with you whenever you may need to. I love this compared to a traditional compact, as that always breaks.
These blush sticks are packed full of goodness.
  • Ginseng which balances and restores your skin.
  • Aloe vera has the ability to soothe the skin
  • Glycolic Acid which will hydrate and rejuvinate your skin.
  • Vitamins which nourish the skin.

As you can see from the swatches, all the blushes are highly pigmented and full of hydration. They are very glossy on the skin.  The blush formula is so silky and smooth which makes the application really easy. I prefer applying some to the back of my hand and stippling on to the cheeks. I've seen videos where people apply straight to their face but when I tried that, all my makeup started moving around and it wasn't pleasant.

With my oily skin, these don't last well unless I set them with a powder blush on top. The hydrating and silky formula is like butter which sinks into my skin and gives me a colourful lift of colour but doesn't last long. I believe you can use these on your eyelids and lips too, which makes all the shades really versatile.

I wouldn’t be able to choose a blush shade from the Pixi collection as my favourite, as they are incredible.

I didn’t expect to love the apricot shade Juicy as much as I did. I knew I would love the shades Fleur (soft pink) and Ruby (crimson red) but Juicy is the one!

Have you tried cream blushes before?

Pixi Glow Collection

Pixi is a brand that I talk about regularly talk about on here, instagram and even in real life. So much so that I gave some friends products from their rose range to try. Its a love affair. Their newest and amazing PR package was full of their glow tonic range, it sounded incredible. If the glow tonic wasn't enough, then this range just blew me away. I've tried pretty much everything, some hits and misses - let's break it down...

Pixi Summer Glow

I adore Pixi skincare but their makeup is quickly becoming a favourite of mine too and I am finding myself using some of their items in my daily makeup routine. They very kindly sent me their summer glow kit and it really is the perfect collection for the summer time.

Currently Loving #10

Wow, how are we in November this weekend?! Its crazy how fast this year is going, despite everything that has gone on. I haven't done a round up of my favourite products/lifestyle things in forever and I thought that today would be the perfect opportunity. Its a mix of beauty, nails and lifestyle things...

The AM | PM Routine Tag

The lovely Mollie from ModernMollie tagged me to do the AM| PM routine tag, I haven't taken part in a tag blog post in such a long time, this was the perfect time! So, thank you Mollie for tagging me, she's the cutest person - so check her out!

I am more of a morning person and always have been, up early in the morning ready and showered everyday before everyone else. When it comes to the night time, my head will hit the pillow and I am out. If you like the idea of this tag, please take part and then let me know!

Spring Beauty Transition

I am loving this Spring season. Compared to last year, when we were in the first lockdown, this one has a lot more benefits and positives. It also given me a chance to change my beauty routine for the season. When I was indoors all the time last year, I didn't really bother but this time of year from April to June is my favourite!

Currently Loving #6

The past two months have been a time for me to rediscover old product and fall in love with new products too. I've realised that if I'm not using something - bin it. If I love something - use it up. My skin is also calming down a lot, the only thing I'm dealing with now is the scarring side of things, which has meant that having a more dewy makeup look has been my go on some days and matte on others. I've been loving the change in looks and its been so much fun experimenting.
monthly favourites

This is just the perfect daily moisturiser, within seconds of applying it, my skin feels hydrated. It is very lightweight, making it perfect to use under makeup and even as a primer. My face just looks alive and rested (which is most definitely isn't). This is just one of the many rose products from their range that I have fallen in love with - can't fault this at all.

Flower Beauty Foundation //

There's a full review and breakdown of this foundation in this post, but I couldn't not mention it. On those days where I want to wear less makeup or need to be out of the house quickly this is perfect. It applies like a dream and makes me look very dewy. The other way I use it is by mixing a tiny bit of the flash balm in with, to create an almost tinted moisturiser. Perfect for when my skin needs a little bit of something to keep me looking one colour.

MUR Baked Bronzer

I love bronzerrrrr, like sooo much! I love how they warm the skin up, give it some glow and wearing one reminds me of summer - which I can't wait for. After spotting this baked one in Superdrug it was too hard to resist it, just look at how pretty it is, all the golden swirls going through it - magical. I love using a big fluffy brush and pouncing this all over my face. It gives my face warmth and a gorgeous subtle sheen, which is more than enough for everyday wear. They have a few shades of this and I think in the summer, I may need to go one up from this one.

Pixi Rose Glow Mist*

Did I mention I'm obsessed with my skin looking dewy? This doesn't just stop at my face either, my legs and arms are also in on the action. This glow mist is technically for the face but applying to my body is the best decision I ever made. It makes my skin GLOWWWW. The tiniest spritz massaged into the skin after applying moisturiser, gives it another layer or nourishment and this subtle, shimmery sparkle that when it hits the light, it looks stunning. If you have this, please try!

MAC Soft and Gentle

An oldie but a goodie. I'd forgotten about this skin finish because so many other highlighters have taken over in the recent years but finding it again has made me the happiest girl. The pink and silver shimmers mixed together, create this perfect highlighter for everyone. On my skin tone is just gives me that BOOM of a highlight that I can't stop staring at.

What have you been loving this month?

End of Summer Favourites

Despite everything going on in the world, isn't it mad how fast the year has gone? I've spent most of the year at home, which has always been a dream of mine but this wasn't quite how I expected it to go...as the summer holidays officially finish for me next week and I go back to work, I thought it would be the perfect time to put together some bits that I have loved over the last few months.

The GLAMOUR Summer Edit 2015

Once every so often I get an email from Latest In Beauty about one of their amazing collaborations with GLAMOUR Magazine. Usually, I stop my self but this time it was the summer version and I just couldn't help myself.

The cute watermelon designed box retails at £17.99 (not including p+p) and the value of the products inside add up to a grand total of  over £90, which is just insane. The main influence for me getting this box was that it contains some gems for travelling and for the summer time! Let's see what is inside....

This is a self tanner/bronzer for your face, it is meant to give you a gradual and natural tan without been harmful. Not much of a tanner but think that it is great for after you have been in the sun and want to keep that gorgeous glow!
I can't go one empties video on you tube without this been mentioned and raved about. Pixi Glow Tonic is meant to be a toner that is suitable for all skin types as it contains nothing harmful. It consists of a blend of Aloe and Ginseng which is really strong but that doesn't affect you skin, hopefully it works!
Nails Inc Gel Effect £15 in Uptown
One of the things that persuaded me to get this box, as the price of one Nail Inc Polish is the whole box nearly! There is a selection of three colour's available and in my box I got given 'Uptown' which is a stunning nude/pink that I will be painting my nails with this evening.
These look and sound like ordinary products, but they contain 5 essentail oils that are meant to give your a hair gloss, soften it and nourish it at the same time as well as relaxing you.
A multi-purpose miracle oil that can be used in your hair, your nails, in the bath and on your face. It is also meant to be good at giving you a nice summer glow and I am not lying when I say it smells amazing.
This lip crayon is the other thing that caught my eye in the email, the amount of times people have told me to try one of the these crayons is unbelievable! Again, like the nail polish there are three colours available in the box, my box came with Peach On The Beach - a cult beauty favourite.
SPF of any kind is a staple during the summer and one of the things I haven't get got for my holiday so thank you LIB. This SPF is suitable for sensitive skin types and can be applied all over the face and then it dries matte instead of oily and sticky like many others.
I own a few things from Balance Me and I love everything the brand produces! Excited to try this body polish and see whether it does firm and tighten at the same time as cleansing.
I am loving temporary tattoos at the moment, I got some from Primark but they aren't that good, this brand however is one that I have seen on social media and can't wait to apply them! All the designs are small and delicate so they don't look like the tattoos you used to wear when you were 5.

I adore this box because everything that it contains I don't own or have ever tried out, expect some individual reviews of the things soon!

You can buy the box for yourself over on the LIB website HERE

Weekend Facials with Pixi

This bank holiday is all about skin. Giving it the treatment and love that it needs and that's all thanks to Pixi. They've really taken over my skincare cabinet - literally. I've been using a lot of the rose collection, which you can read about here but now there's the addition of their masks too! I have always been into masking but never thought that you could put on so many at the same time.

Summer Skincare Picks

My very breakout prone skin is loving the weather at the moment, its given it some life. To help with that I've stripped back my routine to keep it simple, hydrating and still targeting my key concerns; breakouts, oiliness and pigmentation. The following 4 products have made a difference to my overall skin.
summer skincare for oily skin

Skincare on Rotation

Before starting a blog and getting more into the world of beauty, skincare was never something that appealed to me. Now, it is all that I care about, finding new products and bands to test. Before we get into the post, let me give you a bit of history about my skin. It has always been sensitive, oily and prone to breakouts. Up until recently I always used to use products aimed at controlling oil, then at my Dermalogica skin analysis, I found out that I have combination skin. A nice balance between oily and dry, so the products that I should use need to be a mixture and target different things.

For the past month, I have been trialling a whole lot of new skincare and its time to give the run down and talk about what worked and what didn't. Grab a snack, this is one long and very rambly post.
Skincare to Clear Skin

Empties #4

Empties #4

The weirdest thing about having a blog is that I keep things that I have used up just so I can give you the 411 on how they were, if i would get them again and if they were amazing or not.

Since finishing this I have bought another two bottles to keep me stocked up as I love this micellar water. It doesn't react with my skin, removes all my makeup and my skin feels refreshed afterwards. You can read a in-depth review here
For the past few months i have had some awful knee joint pains and neck pains and everything and anything has been put on both the areas to see if it helps. The only thing that has helped ease the pain at night and help me sleep is this rollerball, applying a thin layer cools the area down and makes life a lot easier.
I wanted to finish the wash as quick as possible because I found another one that is even better. This face wash is amazing and does the job of cleaning your face thoroughly, however the price of all freederm products is really off putting  and for that reason alone I wouldn't repurchase it but also because you can find way better ones for half the price.
I still to do this haven't written a full review on this product and god knows why not because I can't say anything bad about it! This primer lasts all day, has spf in it making it amazing for the summer, and the weird texture at first is hard to use but afterwards it sinks into the skin and gives you a base for your makeup. I need to buy this again on my next trip to the shops!
Pixi Glow Tonic (full size £18.00)
This was a little sample I received in the LIB Summer box and after hearing a lot of people rave about this wonder tonic, and on twitter during chats on a sunday about skincare I always see this product coming up. So when it came in the box I just had to try it! I went through the little bottle within two/three days and loved using it on my skin. It didn't react like I thought it would because of it been quite harsh and my skin got a double clean. One day when I can justify it I will be buying the full bottle version.
Looking at the bottle of this foundation it looks like there is a lot of product left in, but there isn't *emoji crying face* the pump has given up on me and won't give me anything else and the bottle doesn't open to even scrape it out. Which is very very annoying. Since it running out I have bought another bottle that is a shade darker due to my summer glow and have missed the original formula after using the matte one for so long. If you are looking for a foundation that is lightweight, amazing coverage but not to pricey then this is the one for you.

That's it for this months empties! What products have you used up recently?
