48 Hours in Berlin

At the beginning of the month, my best friend and I took a trip to Berlin to explore the Christmas markets. We only stayed for 48 hours, which was an adventure in itself and has sparked my desire to do it more often. While it may not seem like much time, in a bustling city with plenty to see and do, careful planning made it possible to experience everything. I must say, if you're a fan of Christmas markets, nothing quite compares to the traditional German ones. I've visited a few in the UK before, but this experience truly surpasses them all.

In this post, I’ll take you through a quick overview of our two-day itinerary in Berlin. While we focused on the Christmas markets, I’ve also included some suggestions for things to do if you’re visiting outside the festive season. This is a very different style of post for me but hopefully many more to come!

Summer Favourites

The beginning of September is here and its time to reflect on the summer that seems like its so long ago! I've loved the summer - its been great to relax, recharge and reset. I've also had a lot of time to waste money and spend money on myself! These are the products that I've loved..

Currently Loving #12

I have been quite absent from the blog recently (more about that at the end) but can you believe we're in July?! I mean I love June - its my birthday month and the month that we had some semi decent lovely weather. These are some of the beauty and lifestyle products I have been loving recently..

Teacher Diaries #1

If you didn't already know, I'm actually a primary school teacher by profession. I am currently in my third year of teaching and love every minute of it. It has its positives and negatives, as well as the last year or so been a challenge but everyday is filled with something different and new and I wouldn't have it any other way. For today's post, I thought I would do a mini- day in the life - not sure if its interesting but here goes...

Marvellous May! We are nearly half way through 2021 and this side of the year definitely looks better than the start. I get my second vaccine this weekend and I could not be more excited. April saw lesson observations, work load increasing, meeting people outdoors, getting my nails done and so many more wonderful things!

2020 Makeup, Skincare and Lifestyle Favourites

2020 seems to have flashed right before my eyes and I can't believe its over - so cliché! Before the new year rings in this weekend, I thought I'd do a rundown of my top products from the year. We're talking everything from makeup to tv shows, its a long one - be ready.

Wow, how are we in November this weekend?! Its crazy how fast this year is going, despite everything that has gone on. I haven't done a round up of my favourite products/lifestyle things in forever and I thought that today would be the perfect opportunity. Its a mix of beauty, nails and lifestyle things...

6 Things To Do During Self-Isolation

What a crazy world we are living in at the moment. It all seems a bit surreal, I keep thinking this is all a dream/we're living the life of characters in a movie or something. We're a few weeks into the UK lock down and my life has changed so much. I work as a teacher and schools were shut around 3 weeks ago, we're teaching online now, which is new in itself and working from home is a completely different concept to me. I'm still trying to find that balance between sleeping and working, hopefully I'll crack it soon!

In today's post, I am sharing with you some ideas of keeping yourself busy/entertained during this lock down period or if you're in self-isolation for any reason. There's a little bit of everything in here, let me know if you have any suggestions too!

Products That Got Me Through January

January always feels like the LONGEST month. Payday seems like 100 days away, the winter cold drags on and on and everyone just seems to be really down. I've picked myself up by varying my routines, having more pamper time and enjoying more wonderful products.

Skin First, Love Later

I must admit, Love Island is one of my guilty pleasures. I get caught up in the couples, the games and the DRAMA. Its a great bit of fun, cheesy tv and the cast for the newest winter edition looks fabulous and I am very very excited!

Happy May! The months are flying by and I am loving a whole new set of products. From skincare to makeup, there's a whole mix! My aim in April was to really shop my stash, use products that have been collecting dust and trying my hand at new products too.

L'Oreal Foundation (full review)
I have no bad words to say about this foundation, none. This is actually my second bottle and I can't imagine life without it. It gives me medium coverage for everyday, lasts on my face through work and hides everything. The biggest positive for me is that despite it having quite a fragrant smell to it, my skin doesn't break out and I haven't broken out whilst using it.

MAC Soar Lipstick with Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fu$$y
This lip combination is one that I can't get enough of! Soar is a stunning lip liner from MAC and one that I have used for years, when they realised the lipstick form - it took me seconds to order it and I am so glad I did. This shade is the perfect dark, mauve pink nude and just looks gorgeous. When paired with the Fenty gloss on top, my lips are in heaven. This gloss isn't sticky or irritating, like some are. Its lightweight and easy to wear - so no hair sticking on the lips!

My under eyes have become so dry recently. When I don't drink enough water, they really suffer and more than ever a few weeks ago they were horrible. They hurt to rub and there was so much flaky skin. The only thing that helped them and restored them back to normal was this eye cream from Antipodes. It was soothing on the very sensitive area and provided it with some moisture. I popped it in the fridge a few nights and the cooling sensation on my eyes was so nice.

Sunday Riley U.F.O Oil
SR is a very luxury skincare brand, this is only the second item from them that I have ever tried but I am keen to try so much more. This oil was one I bought from someone on Instagram, who was selling a bottle only 1/4 for £25  - a bargain! I apply this on my chin every night because the combination of ingredients help the spots stay at bay, even when its the time of the month. It keeps them away and I couldn't be without it.

Zara Perfume
On a recent trip to the beloved Zara, I picked up one of their perfumes to try and I am madly in love. This one is my everyday work scent, a quick spritz and I'm good to go. Its very floral and sweet, which is what I love for work and the scent *actually* lasts on me for a few hours. I just loveeee it.

Lifestyle

I am loving green tea at the moment, I seem to be drinking like 6 cups a day. Its very good for you and at work instead of coffee with lots of sugar in, this is much better.
In the TV world there are so many things at the moment. Jane the Virgin is currently on its final run and the emotions are high. I am so invested in the series, the characters and the storyline that I don't want it to end!! There is also Station 19, which is a Grey's spin-off, and the drama that happens is so interesting! I went to see Avengers: Endgame last week and my goodness it was incredible.

Favourite posts are so hard for me to keep on top of, I just seem to use all the same products all the time and then just buy the same ones when I run of them. This month I tried some new things and I think next month is going to be even better because I have started planning my makeup out for the week to use more things up and try.

I asked someone at work what perfume they were wearing and when they said it was from Primark, I legged it over there to see if I could find it. The Polka Rose Oud is a gorgeous, sandalwoody, musky scent that just fills the room. My mum hates it but there's something about that just appeals to me.

Concealer has to be the number one product that I can now live without, I used to use the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer years ago but never got round to buying it again. Trishna kept mentioning it on her blog and that urged me to buy it again. It is so creamy, easy to blend and packs a punch. I love using this to cover any redness and wear on its own on a no makeup, makeup day too. The Primark Concealer has been my go to under eye concealer of the moment, it is way lighther than my skin tone so works really well and is decent coverage too - not bad for £2.

Another perfume favourite comes in the form of Scent & Co*, and I finally got the chance to try the very popular Flowerbomb perfume. Its a perfume subscription, where each month for just £14.95 you get to choose which scent you'd like to try! The little bottle comes in a travel container and fits in my tiniest little handbag and the scent is just amazing. Use the code INSTA15 for 15% off.

When shopping with friends, I end up buying things I really don't need! Like this Maybelline Superstay Ink, its £10 for a lipstick from Maybelline which is just ridiculous to me. I have to say though, it is worth every penny. This shade is a stunning mauve pink, the formula is very long lasting, matte and doesn't dry on the lips. It has a fancy wand as well and makes applying the lipstick a lot easier. I now need more from the collection...

My love of earrings is never going to go away, infact I wear a different pair everyday now - that is how obsessed I am. This little number is from Glistkin* and are only £2.99. They have so many gorgeous and some very dainty pieces in their shop and all under £10, I need to get some new bits from them because these are just incredible for such a low price.

I finally finished Grey's Atanomy, and by finish, I mean all 14 seasons. I only started in February but dedicated myself to the programme (I'm known as someone who can finish a series pretty quick). It has been a rollercoaster of emotions but worth every minute. Ahh its just amazing.

What have you been loving this month, TV wise? I need something new to binge watch!

As another month passes by (quickly as always) it is time to share products that I have been asboutely loving and using non stop. Some this month are basic tools, the items that I just can't live without on a daily basis, I feel like these are sometimes hidden away and not loved enough. March has disappeared infront of my eyes and I am hoping that I give April every love and attention it deserves before life gets busy again.

An Autumn Night In

Has anyone else realised that the weather has gone really cold this week? Suddenly having to wear tons of layers, having the heating on and complaining about the weather has been quite the shock to the system. This weekend I am having quite the night in before another hectic few weeks at university start, what better time to do something for myself than when its cold? If you follow me on social media then you will also know that I have injured myself this week too, the other day when washing up I cut my finger on a glass and it has left me with quite the injury. It has also happened on my dominant hand, so I am restricted to doing most things - this night in, could not have come at a better time!

Currently Loving

There are so many products that I am loving currently, some of which haven't had a mention on here ever! Monthly favourites fizzle in and out fashion as a blog post, so I thought of just choosing some of my favourite products at the moment and mashing them together in one post.
I find myself using the same products so often and to death, that I end up using things up before I have even had the chance to talk about them, hopefully I can keep making these types of posts!
