Sephora Haul

When we travelled to Italy last month, I was on a search for a Sephora. There weren't that many in the area we stayed near Venice but the one I found drained my bank account and I couldn't be happier. I am now ready for a no buy January because I have enough of basically everything. There wasn't as much choice for other brands as I hoped. I wanted to buy from brands that we don't get here in the UK and from their own brand, as their collection is brilliant.

The last time I managed to visit Sephora was over two years ago and things have changed a lot since then, their skincare has had a makeover and there was so much on offer. The things that caught my eye were to do with hydration and glow.
* The Sephora C + E serum was a holy grail to one of the staff members, she hailed it as the serum that gives her the glow from within and makes her skin feel and look so soft and supple. It contains vitamin c and e, which are both brightening ingredients.
* I love anything that contains hyaluronic acid and the all day moisturiser and eye cream duo was jumping out at me. I love the simple, science like packaging that they've opted for and having matching products with identical ingredients makes me so happy.
*Something that I bought came with a freebie of a jade roller which is very cool, I've never used one before so I am very excited to pamper myself with this.

As I mentioned above, their Sephora Collection is amazing and has some incredible products. I've tried most of their lip products in the past and cheek products, so this visit was aimed at eyes and base.
The first thing that caught my eye was glitter! I was mesmerised by the liquid eyeshadow glitters, I had to stop myself from buying all of them. I settled for a bronze as I have nothing like this in my collection and its surreal. Then we have a simple and easy black pencil liner, my cousin loves this and I needed to try and find out what she loves about it - I am pants at liner so hopefully this helps me a little bit. One product that they were displaying a lot was their Size Up Mascara, I really don't need anymore mascaras but this one looked amazing. The brush wand is huge and its not a sticky or watery formula - I shall report when I've used.

I'm a foundation collector and need some serious help but I love mixing my base products up and around depending on my mood, the weather and my skin. I've seen and heard about the best skin ever foundation online and wanted to try for myself. I had to completely guess the shade but seem to have matched myself pretty well. Its a medium, buildable coverage that has been formulated to give the skin a natural look. I used it quickly over Christmas and was impressed. It definitely wore better as the day went on. I remember using the set and refresh spray, years and years ago. It had a very fine mist which worked well to set the face in-between foundation and powder - excited to see how it performs.

I have saved the best thing to last. As I was at the till, the most dangerous part as it contains all the minis and exclusives. I spotted some NEW Rare Beauty goodies and squealed with excitement. The lady behind the counter looked so confused and I had to explain that Rare Beauty isn't yet available in the UK. If you don't know, RB is from Selena Gomez and has taken the beauty world by storm. Everything from her is beautiful with simple packaging and quality at the forefront. I won't go into too much detail about what I picked up as I have a full post coming soon... but here is a sneak peek.

There we have it. A mini Sephora haul that I am so excited about to use and review. We need some of their own brand things over here in the UK!

Sephora Paris Haul

Back in December, really close to Christmas I had the best trip ever to Disneyland Paris. Myself and Nicole wondered off to the city for a little long weekend away to celebrate the amazing year we had. Round the corner from the hotel was a shopping mall and hidden inside was of course a Sephora! We couldn't help ourselves when we went the first time... we ended up going in again. In hindsight, I didn't actually pick up as much as I thought I did for myself as most of the things ended up being Christmas presents for friends. However, the things I did pick up have been sat waiting to be blogged about! There wasn't the biggest selection of brands there but lots of pretty things nonetheless.

Greece Sephora & Duty Free Haul

Currently in that depressed, take me back on holiday and get me in the sunshine mood. Normal right? Its been just over a week since I got back from holiday and since then I've started at uni again, moved into a house and finally had a chance to show you the goodies that I picked up. When we went toy Heraklion for the day, the capital of Crete - we hunted down the Sephora. It was a very exciting day indeed! They didn't have many brands and it was a tiny little shop but well worth the visit.

Worth The Hype - Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream

About two months ago, very blogger and vlogger was shouting out loud about the miracle product that is the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream (what a mouthful in short Complexion Rescue).

The complexion rescue comes in a plastic tube with a squeezy applicator, although I would prefer a small pump - but i'm just fussy. I went with the shade TAN 07 as this was the closet match to my skin, but is still a tad too light for my skin. But with other products on top you can't really tell.

I can't describe how this 'gel cream' feels, at first I was very worried as it felt like I was applying a watered down foundation on my face. Then after using both my fingers and a sponge to see which method is easier I decided that it isn't at all that bad. The coverage is light and great for when you are on the move however I found that you have to be quick. And I mean really quick, it dries like quick dry paint and then doesn't budge. It reduces redness and helps with evening out my skin tone, but this isn't something I would reach for when I was working/had a long day as it personally isn't enough coverage.

The most noticeable thing about this gel cream is that it feels fresh and hydrating on the skin, I am able to wear this without having to apply a moisturiser underneath even when my skin is full of dry patches. The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Creams isn’t at all rich in consistency– but very slippery in feel. It really is a great gel-cream; not cakey and with sheer coverage of SPF30 that leaves the skin with a slight sheen and a tiny hint of a glow. Very different to anything else I own. Is it worth the hype? Kind Of. I love the convenience of the product and the feel of the product. On the other hand I only got it because it was 'cheaper' in Dubai otherwise I would have never purchased it as there are many other products out on the market just like this aka the Bourjois CC Cream.

I would love to know your thoughts on the Complexion Rescue Cream?!

Dubai Sephora Haul

Dubai Sephora Haul

It happened. I went to Dubai and my main expenditure was at Sephora. Yes, I bought makeup whilst on holiday but I'm a girl! This Sephora is in the Dubai Mall, which is glorious so big and full of so many USA and UK Shops, it's mad that you need a week to look at everything. This Sephora didn't stock everything that normal Sephora does eg Becca which I wanted to get my hands on and brands such as Too Faced which was there didn't have everything. Very mismatch, but I did end up buying a few things for myself and the rest for others.

At Sephora, they have a free gift wrapping service! And seen as though I had to go on a 8 hour flight, I thought why not get them all wrapped for extra protection and because it looks a lot prettier - so much choice. The lady was also super nice and was talking to me all about how Sephora needs to come to the UK! HELL YES.

The first three things I picked up were from Bare Minerals, I don't like the BM counters in the UK they never seem to have a clue what they are talking about but the one in Dubai was great. The main purchase was the Complexion Rescue which has been very raved about recently, and I want to see whether it is Worth the Hype?! Then a eye brightener for my ugly dark circles, the lady at the counter put this on me there and then in 45 degree heat and it managed to work well! At this point I was walking away but she got me again with a nude Moxie lipgloss - how can I resist!

The next thing I got my hands on was a Sephora X set, it is a travel mini pack that comes with the base coats, one colour and a top coat. They have an entire travel section which I found amazing, everything from eye-shadow sticks to mini beauty blenders (but the price tag was insane!).  And I picked up a matte lip cream as these things are amazing and such a great formula.

This haul isn't the biggest one in the world because I had the shortest amount of time inside and didn't want to spend a ton of money in one go, but an online order is coming as a little treat to myself oops.

Sephora NARS Birthday Gift

Sephora NARS Birthday Gift

I turned 18 last month and I am not even lying when I tell you that getting emails around/on my birthday offering me a special birthday treat gets me excited. This year one from Sephora got me really giddy, and I wasn't even expecting it!

Sephora now ships to the UK and since the news broke out a while back I signed up to their mailer but had no idea what I was letting myself in for apart from the odd email about their latest products. Then on the morning of the big day I got an email saying that my NARS birthday gift was waiting for me! How could I resist a birthday gift from NARS?

Be warned you can't just claim the gift you have to put actually buy something and I wanted to get the 'cheapest' yet nicest item possible so that the cost of shipping didn't scare me as much. I opted for a matte lip cream which is yet to be used, so have a look out for that very soon. I didn't pay for express delivery just the normal one and it cost me £10 on top of the lip creme that I had to buy in order to get the birthday gift, all I kept thinking was 'do it for the NARS Parie'.

About a week later it turned up and I have fallen in love with both pencils ever since! When you hear people rave about the lip pencils from NARS they are not lying about how amazing they are, the formula, the colour pay off and the look of them is just luxurious. The lip pencils are only mini, but considering that it is a free gift I am not complaining in the slightest. I believe that they change the gift every year, so if you have a birthday in the next 5 months then you are in luck and can sign up to receive this gift, if your birthday has passed let's hope for an amazing gift next year as well!
