Celebrate in Style with Elvi

This might just be the most exciting weekend of the year so far. Its the ROYAL WEDDING. I am someone that loves and I mean loves the royal family and the wedding has got me super excited. I am working through the wedding but will be live streaming it on my phone no matter what people say. This post is in collaboration with Elvi, who have kitted me out with some amazing goodies to celebrate the wedding in style.

Party Handbag Essentials

Yesterday, I kicked off my festive celebrations. With a friends Christmas dinner yesterday, one today and another two weeks packed with celebrations I have decided to be super organised. I have got myself a bag, ready to go and all it needs is a change of things depending on weather or the time of day the said event is. Sounds absolutely ridiculous now that I've wrote it out but I just have to be ready for anything and as I am always the none drinker of the group, I am the go to everything. Just to point out, I can't pack light for anything so half of these things probably aren't necessary.

The Glam Face & DIY Surprise Party

Two weekends ago was the most stressful weekend of my life, my mum turned 50 and as a family we took it upon ourselves to host a surprise party. She had absoutely no idea, until the moment she walked through the door and we shouted SURPRISE. The look on her face was priceless, it was such a great night and its crazy that we actually pulled it off.

The most important parts of the night for me, were the decorations because the venue was bare without anything. Then of course my makeup, I obviously needed to look the part as the daugther of the special person and had my makeup planned out for weeks. I managed to do an entire face in the dark with the tiniest mirror in just under 10 minutes, proud doesn't even cut it!

Get the Look: Party

Tis the season to be jolly, merry and sparkly! Christmas is just around the corner, new years isn't that long away either and that only means one thing - PARTYYY SEASON.
You've got your outfit, shoes and hair booked in but what about makeup? For me, the most important part, your face is in every picture no doubt so you need to be looking your absolute best.

I've teamed up with The Body Shop (can you hear me scream!) to show you a classic, party look for no money at all. Its part of their online beauty calender, 24 days, 24 different bloggers and 24 posts that include everything from makeup to stocking fillers. I'm day number 20, so get ready to see my little face...

Birthday Blues

'Don't just count your years, make your years count.' George Meredith

So, that's another birthday over with. If you didn't already know, then on Monday was actually my 19th birthday! I can't actually believe that I am in my last 'teen' year, I remember turning 13 and now 19 - crazy! I'm a summer baby, so the last person in my friendship group to turn this grand old age. Its just how its always been, but having a birthday exactly half way through the year is good enough for me.

Birthdays are a real funny one, my whole life I have been at school for them, for he past 4 years had an exam on them and this year I was working! How fun! But I had a great weekend to compensate for it and enjoyed the day by wearing a badge and everyone wishing me happy birthday.

Hello beautiful readers! This post is a very special one in my mind as it has been one whole year since I started blogging and posted my first ever post! I remember the day very clearly, I had spent ages designing the whole page and wanted everything to be perfect like the other blogs I had ever read. And then it was time to publish and I clicked 'Publish' did I know exactly what that meant? Nope..Did I know what to expect in the future? Nope! And from that day on I haven't stopped taking photos, reviewing and blogging for all of you out their and I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and never want it to stop. We are a one big family and I feel so happy when people follow, comment or even click on to my blog because I find it amazing that you want to read what I have written.
The appearance of my blog has always been important to me and here is what it looked like when I first started out and you can read my first every blog post here, which is all about winter!

Dress to suit you ♥

As it is currently party season, and coming up to new years eve with all the party's. I thought it would be a good idea to give you a guide on how to dress appropriately for the body shape that you are. The worst thing to do is to wear something unflattering and have everyone talk about you.

1. THE PEAR SHAPE
A pear shaped women has hips that are wider than the shoulders, your bottom is rounded and your waist is noticeable. Your best feature's are your shoulders, and the flat stomach. My drawing attention to your waist and arms you are balancing out the upper and lower body.

DON'T - wear items of clothing that focus on your hips & thighs
DO- Mix up light and dark colours so they contrast.
DO- Wear strapless dresses to show off those arms and balance the top and bottom.
DO- Go with the pointy toed shoes to elongate your legs.

2. RECTANGLE SHAPED
Rectangular body shapes have hips, shoulders and a waist that are similar in width. Your best feature's are your arms and legs which means you don't have to take attention away from other parts of your body. BY just creating curves in your body you are showing those arms and legs off.

DO - Wear tops that have collars, ruffles or any detail that will flatter your top half.
DO - Layer items of clothing to add more shape.
DO- Feel free to experiment with a range of different colours.
DON'T - Go too daring with prints and patterns

3. APPLE SHAPED BODY
Women with apple shapes figures find that their weight gathers above the narrow hips that they have. There ribs, back and shoulders are broad and can tend to make you feel wider than others. But a advantage to being apple shaped is the LEGS!! If you show off the legs and create the image of having a waist - you'll look amazing!

DO- Buy tops with v-necks for a longer torso image.
DO- Wear belts that fit around the smallest part of your waist.
DO- Go for the empire tops and dresses which will do their best to hide any tummy bulge.
DO- Boot cut and flared jeans are your best bet to create a even line from head to toe.

4. HOURGLASS FIGURE
Being an hourglass figure, means that you are a very lucky woman! Your hips & shoulders are similar in width and lie in between a tiny waist. CURVES are your best assest ... showing these off will get anyone drooling.
DON'T- Please don't cover up those curves with baggy clothing
DO- Wear dresses that are fitted to show off those curves
DO- By wearing a belt you are showing off that hourglass shape
DO- Go and try wearing skinny or straight leg jeans.
