Revolution Conceal and Hydrate Range on Oily Skin

You might be reading the title and thinking - what on earth is Parie on about?! Well its true, I am test out a hydrating range from Revolution on my very oily skin. It sounds like a skincare nightmare but as my skin starts to turn more dry in the winter, I thought it was time to put something to the test. The Revolution Conceal and Define range is a firm favourite of many. The concealer from the matte range, is a great dupe for the Tarte concealer, which I blogged about early last year. This 50 shade range however is infused with hyaluronic acid to hydrate, provide a plumping effect and create a gorgeous smooth, satin glow finish to the skin.Let's go on shall we...

2 Must Have Eyeshadow Palettes under £10

I'm addicted to ''drugstore'' makeup. There are so many things that attract me to it; the quality, price, accessibility and the wider range of brands that are available. Years ago, there was only a few brands stocked in both Boots and Superdrug but now there is so much choice and variety! I love L'Oreal, Maybelline and for the past couple of years Revolution. They've killed the makeup game and are constantly bringing out products that are incredible. I was very touched when they got in touch to send me a couple of bits and lets just say - they did not disappoint.

Tarte Shape Tape £4 Dupe

The much hyped Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is one of my favourite discoveries of last year. I bought it around March time on QVC and have used it nearly everyday when I wear makeup and the tube is still going. Would you say its a favourite of mine? Yes 100%. One thing that I don't like about it is the price. I have never spent this much on concealer in my life and don't really fancy spending the same amount again when there are other cocnealers out there that I love.
Makeup Revolution (another cult favourite brand) have released so many products recently and their new concealer caught my eye straight away. The first Superdrug that I visited were completely sold out of it but another had lots in so I just had to get one. Upon purchasing, swatching and looking at it, it reminded me of the Shape Tape almost immediately. So, of course I had to put them to test.

Keeping The Glow After Summer

Like every other blogger, I am so excited that autumn is just around the corner. There will be a lot of mention about the season on here and my social media over the next few months, I just love the season so much. This summer however, I really got into having glowy skin. From my base to the highlighter that I apply on my cheeks, I have become obsessed with being dewy. Today's post is in collaboration with TAM Beauty, the brand who has many other brands under its umbrella from Freedom to Makeup Revolution. In this post, I am showing you some inexpensive and good quality products that are perfect for the autumn and still capture some summer glow.

The Daring Highlighter

I'm not one for buying and using makeup that is quite 'out there', I tend to stick with what I know works and everything that is nude. However, I do love experimenting from time to time and this summer seems like the perfect time to do just that! On a quick trip to Superdrug the other day to pick up a few essentials, I spotted the Makeup Revolution stand. One of the many brands now under the TAM Beauty umbrella. They release new products almost every week, sometimes I love the look of them and sometimes I skip. In my local store they had just had a delivery of the new products that have been launched this week, ombre highlighters (will appear next week) and this gorgeous highlighter.

Makeup Revolution First Impressions

Let's just say that I am slightly obsessed with highlighting, all forms too! The post all about highlighters under £10 went down a treat and there was a lot of love for the gorgeous MUR palette. Since that post, I ended up buying two more palettes from the brand, one is labelled as a strobing palette and the other highlighter - either way they are beautiful and here's the low down.

New from Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution is a brand that I will always love, their products are inexpensive and great quality too. I'm signed up to their mailing list and every so often get intrigued by the new products that they release, last week one email got me very excited and I ended up making a very small order. Since they arrived, its all I've been using and reaching for.

Makeup Revolution Haul

I went on the Makeup Revolution website and next thing I know a few products were added into my basket and then an email came to me saying' Thank you for placing your order'. I have been eyeing up some things from them quite a lot recently, mainly after their new lines were added so I went for it! And know my local superdrug back home stocks MR! More for me...

£14,99
This was the first thing to go into my basket. MR have recently launched a new range of makeup brushes and I have just splurged on some others so had to keep this spend short and sweet. I went with this set as for the price I thought it was amazing. The brushes are tiny compared to my others so I am hoping they work well. And it came with a sponge, and my real techniques one is coming to an end :(
(I bought it separately, but now it is part of a set)
This reminds me of the beauty blender and I am wanting to get one to do a comparison for you all and see what is it like. Its a lovely little sponge and I can't wait to use it. Will report back as soon as!
New-trals vs Neutrals Palette
£6.99
How beautiful is this palette!!!! As soon as it arrived it just screamed autumn to me and I can't wait to get out of my comfort zone a little bit and use the daring shades. The top row is what I am most excited to use.
Pro Fix Oil Control Fixing Spray
£5.00
The most exciting purchase of them all, I have to say and one that I can already give my opinion on. I love the idea of setting sprays, they seem to make other peoples makeup last very long and I always wonder if it would do the same for my makeup but which one to get is the question. When I saw this retailing for just £5 I just had to get it. Boy am I glad I did. This spray has kept so much of my makeup in place, controls oil in my tzone and you can't feel it! I have a full review coming up very soon!

Have you tried anything from MR recently?!

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

contouring under £5

Contouring and Bronzing are two words that don't mix with me very well. There are people out their who are amazing at them both and can make it look easier and effortless when it really isn't in real life let's be honest. As the weather has been getting a little bit better I haven't been opting for blush and instead for bronzer and recently Makeup Revolution are my go to brand for it and the other day I realised that I have 4 different products from them that work amazingly well and are just about for under £5...

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

First up is the most natural bronzer/contour of the lot, this huge bronzer is completely matte making it perfect to use on your cheekbones. It is also very sheer which gives you chance to build it up to a high intensity and it is also great to take with you for touch ups due to being light weight but I would love it even more if it had a mirror. The one thing that annoys me is that the bronzer is very very fine and when you put your brush in it, it goes everywhere - is that normal? Maybe, but I have never experienced something like it.

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

Protection Palette £6.00 and Contour Kit £4.00
Next up is the contour kit from MR a dupe for the much raved about one from Sleek, I don't actually own the contour kit which comes under £5 but the bronzer, blush and highlighter comes as part of the protection palette that also includes concealer and a powder. This whole palette is the perfect thing to keep in your handbag and carry around with you because you have everything in it to look a little bit normal again. The shades range from light to dark and in each one the trio to contour matches your skin tone. This is well worth the investment!

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

The cheapest one out of this entire lot and probably something that I would have never even thought of, a eye-shadow that you can use for contour and let me tell you it works amazingly well. It looks like a brown shadow but it is very grey toned and that actually makes it perfect to use, especially if you are like me and have darker skin then finding a contour product can be really hard but this is amazing and I can't even explain it!! If you want to see it in action then see the picture below and you will see the difference it makes, might I also add that this is the easiest way to contour that I have found.

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

This out of all of them is the more daring product and to tell you the truth I get really scared every time I use it because of it being so dark as yo can see in the swatch below. But then when it is on your skin and you really blend it out (clean brush works best) it doesn't look half bad. I have the normal version but there is also a matte version on the market and I may just by that next time around because it won't leave a sheen on my cheeks once it sets. I highly recommend this stick to get that Kim K look but you might need some bronzer to tone it down.

Contouring/Bronzing for Under £5

In the above picture I have a blend of the contour stick that I applied with a fluffy eye-shadow brush and really blended it in, then to define it a little bit more I applied the mocha love eye-shadow with the same brush and then to get a nice bronze glow I used the chocolate bronzer. I found that using these three together worked amazingly well and lasted all day as well, this isn't something that I would do every day more on a night out or day away. For every day the bronzers in both the protection palette and the chocolate one is amazing and not too much that you look full of makeup.

Overall all these products from MR have really changed my makeup routine, I can't imagine life now without them and they are much easier to use than they look - I guess you just have to be daring.

Makeup Revolution Haul

makeup revolution top picks

Makeup Revolution is a brand that I have always had my eye on, I see the new releases all over my instagram and twitter feed and the blogs I follow are always raving about them. I thought it was about time I made an order, and I ordered when it was their 1st Birthday which meant a free gift with purchase! I was very good and bought just what I wanted and also asked my friend Aimee if she wanted anything, seen as though she persuaded me to try out some things!

Makeup Revolution Haul

Protection Palette £6.99
This was the thing that I really really wanted, Aimee hasn't stopped raving about this since she got it and upon first glance I knew that I will fall in love with it as well. The protection palette includes three shades of concealer that combat different areas of your face, a powder to set it all and then a bronzer, blusher and highlighter to complete your look. It is everything you need in one palette and comes with a mirror - bonus! I went with the shade 'Medium' but there are a range to choose from
Pure Cult Palette £3.99
I needed something to buy that pushed my order further up in order to get free delivery and this was the one! The Pure Cult eye shadow palette comes with 10 shades that look perfect for a day and night time look, the whole 10 shade range is gorgeous and it was hard to pick!
Mocha Love EyeShadow £1.00
Recently, Kaushal from KaushalBeauty talked about this shadow in one of her videos as the perfect contouring colour, being the enabler she is I decided to put it to the test and give it a go. For only £1 you can't go wrong buying lots of these single shadows.

32 Flawless Palette Flawless £8.00
Sugar and Spice Blush Palette £6.00
Both of these items I got a while ago from Superdrug but they haven't been hauled on here yet so I thought to just include them in this post! Both these palettes are perfect for on the go and when you are in a hurry because the choice you have is endless. The shadows are super pigmented and buttery, they work amazingly well!

Lip Power in Yesterday's Favourite £3.00
Another Aimee driven purchase, the lip power is a product that is utter genius. It comes with a lipstick and a lip gloss, making it easier for you to choose the lip option you wear in the morning.
Blush Stick in Malibu £5.00
The NARS Multiple sticks look amazing but are way out of my budget, little did I know that MR have a dupe for them all that go by the name 'The ONE Blush Stick' coming in a range of shades they are meant to be cream products. I went with the bronzy colour one in hope that it can help me with my horrible contouring skills.

Now this is the stuff that came as the free gift, I kept some and Aimee kept the other stuff that she had her eye on. I decided to keep the Go to the City Palette , a mascara that promises amazing volume, liquid blush, two of the eye pigments which slightly scare me and a happy lips.

When the parcel came in the post I felt like a little girl at Christmas, it got me very excited! Expect reviews of some of the things very soon because I have a feeling everything will be amazing!

Any recommendations from MR that i NEED to get next? Not that I need anything else!

Budget Buys| Makeup Revolution Eye Primer in Original

Makeup Revolution Eye Primer in Original

Eye Primers. A very iffy makeup product for most and for me it can be either 'ride or die'. I love my Urban Decay Primer but am all for trying out new ones and when the new Budget Buy came along from Makeup Revolution I was like an eager beaver and just had to try it.
