L'Oreal Infallible More Than Concealer and Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation Review

When I started out blogging, L'Oreal were one brand that I used to buy everything from. At that time, they were the talk of the town - everyone loved everything from them and this was before other brands started to make more of an appearance in the beauty world. The True Match foundation was my favourite along with their lipsticks from the different ambassadors, powder and of course nail polish. Then I stopped buying anything from them for awhile, the only thing I have used recently is the Pro Matte Foundation but even that was every now and then.

Then, out of nowhere I had this urge to try their new launches. One being the More Than Concealer which was making its rounds on You Tube and the other is the Fresh Wear Foundation, which is a relaunch/reformulated version of their original Infallible foundation (post here) which I also loved. One impressed me and the other I am on the fence about ...

L'Oreal Infallible Range Review

L'Oreal launches always catch my eye, they are a brand that I love and that my skin loves too. I (touch wood) have never broken out after using their products nor have I experienced any reactions. When I heard there were some new products coming from them, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them and after testing them out a couple of times and in a few different ways, I thought it was about time to share what I think.

Cheryl x L'Oreal Lip Kits

I am a huge fan of Cheryl, since her days in Girls Aloud, I haven't been able to get enough of her. I love everything she does and when I heard that she was bringing out some new products with L'oreal, they had to be mine. In the past, she has bought out a lipstick with them and been the face of their campagings but this is the first collaboration where she has launched more products. The ranges include, two eye paints (not for me personally) and then three lip kits. There are lip paints and pencils included in the kit and in the shades, burgundy, greige and peach. I got my hands on the two that scream autumn to me and will suit my skintone more.

L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation First Impressions

Its a bit L'Oreal crazy on the blog at the moment but they are killing it base wise and I just have to try and buy everything! Through Ebay I managed to get my hands on the US version of the Infallible Pro-Matte foundation (full post) as well as the Pro-Glow (coming soon), but next on my list was their newest release the Infallible Total Cover. As per usual, the US had it first and then I saw on Kaushal's youtube that it was coming over here really soon, since then my eyes have been looking out for it. Last friday, on a random trip into Superdrug, I spotted them just as they were being put out!

Loreal Infallible Foundation Review - US vs UK

Loreal Infallible UK VS US

The L'oreal Infallible Foundation used to be a firm favourite of fine, it was all I ever used. But as time went on, the formula becoming too drying on my skin and their darkest shade (30 Honey, might I add) became far too light for me. A few bloggers have been raving about the how the US formula is much better than the UK one and I just had to try it out. Unfortunately, flying over seas just to buy the foundation seemed a tiny bit too expensive, but good old eBay came through.

There is a UK Seller which you can find under the username suntastic0_1, that supplies you with a variety of American makeup goodies. They are based in the UK and delivery was fast and with me within 3 working days. They sell a whole range of makeup items from the drugstore and you could spend hours browsing and choosing what to buy.

I'm just going to put it out there, this foundation is incredible. Along with a few others I've been using lately this has restored my faith in L'Oreal foundations! I ended up going with the shade #107 Fresh Beige, after browsing swatches for days and watching videos of people similar shades to me in other foundations. It's just about perfect, its very yellow toned which is a good thing on Asian skin however I think the darker shade may have suited me a little bit better but it doesn't look awful.

The packaging for the foundations, are very similar. Both in a tube, without a pump annoyingly however I have found that the US version is a lot larger in size compared to the one we get here in the UK. Its a slimmer tube and a bit more difficult to handle.

This for me is very much high coverage, you need a small squirt on each part of your face to cover everything and anything. My scars, spots and uneven skin tone all get covered with this miracle worker and it blends like a dream. I have used both a buffing brush and beauty blender to see the difference in results, both work amazingly well! I prefer the blender as it looks a little more seamless and is easy to blend away but a brush is just as good. I find it covers perfectly and lasts me for an entire day, after applying at 7am for work and coming home at 7 its still in tact. No need to powder to remove shine or blot to control cakiness.

The EBay seller has it retailing at £12.95 which is £5 more than what the UK version is sold for however I would repurchase this over the UK one any day. If you have always wanted to try the US verison/this foundation in general then I urge you to buy now!

LOreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation Review

Hello fellow foundation addicts, welcome! No idea what has happened to me recently but I keep buying everything base products. My skin is all over the place, dry then oil so I guess you would call it combination?! Who knows. When browsing the Boots near me, I found the reduced section. By far my favourite place to have a browse, picked up so many bargains and most stores have one, so be sure to find your local one! Hidden at the back I found the very talked about L'Oreal Nude  Magique Cushion Foundation.

Since it came to the UK, everyone in the beauty world has been talking non stop about it and I was itching to buy it. The only thing putting me off was the price. It retails for £14.99 which in my opinion is a bit steep for 'drugstore'. In the US its so much cheaper, why is it so high here? In the reduced section I found this for £3.50, all because the powder puff was missing, which I wouldn't have used anyway. In my shade too - it was meant to be!

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette Review

Coffee, Contour, Confidence - my life motto. Yeah right! Contouring has become such a phenomenon and still going strong through the beauty world. I have never got into the cream/powder products created for it specially due to them been a bit on the expensive side. As part of L'Oreal's new Infallible range they have launched their own concoction. A Sculpt Contour Palette, that includes a contour shade and a highlighter.

Makeup of the Moment #1

Makeup of the Moment

One of my resolutions for this year is to use my makeup to the fullest, whatever the price tag. In a bid to remember to use it and keep track of the resolution, I've decided to do 'Makeup of the Moment' posts, hopefully it will showcase different products that I own and a different look (kind of).

L'Oréal Infallible Fixing Mist Review

L'Oréal Infallible Fixing Mist

As soon as I saw this on L'Oreal's instagram I just had to go out and hunt it down, it must have all been planned because it was the last one in my local Superdrug! Keeping my makeup on all day is a challenge and I can't seem to find a primer that my skin likes so maybe a mist will work better.

L'Oréal Super Duo

loreal super duo

Mixing foundations is something I have never done, I seem to always strike lucky with the right shade and can adapt to the formula of the foundation. Until recently. I saw the lovely Taylor post on instagram about her favourite foundation combination at the moment, that consists of the l'Oreal true match and the Infallible. After hearing her thoughts I knew I had to try it out to see the results. Low and behold the girl has done it again and has created a super foundation.

When you mix them both together you are infact mixing the properties of each one, the True Match is light weight, medium coverage and gives a dewy finish whereas the Infallible is high coverage, sometimes too heavy for everyday and matte. When you put these together you have a foundation that is high enough coverage for a flawless face, a semi-matte finish that looks incredible and coverage that lasts all day. I have slightly fallen in love with mixing these both together, and it comes at the right time seen as though both of them need finishing up.

If you like both of these foundation on their own, then I suggest trying to mix it up by putting them together because you are creating the perfect foundation. It isn't something I would do just for a quick trip to the supermarket but for a long day at work or school this is great.

What I've Been Loving - L'Oreal True Match

L'Oreal True Match

Anyone else have love hate relationships with their foundations? One base that I have hated for the last few months is the L'Oreal True Match as it was clinging on to dry patches and going 'patchy' throughout the day. Until the other week on a complete whim I decided to repurchase it due to the bottle having a makeover. It is now taller and slimmer with a new pump. This enticed me to try it once again and I have fallen back in love.
L'Oreal True Match

The coverage is medium to high as it covers everything, from dark spots to red spots as well as giving a slight dewy finish. It also isn't very thick in consistency and this makes it easier to layer up if needs be. I guessed my shade to be 7.c or Rose Amber and it is a perfect match, even better than the other foundations I own. They have also confirmed that the formula has been updated yet still keeping the medium coverage.
L'Oreal True Match

There is just something about this foundation that has got me hooked again, maybe because it is a more of a winter base rather than summer. I can't lie and say that I picked it up because I love it, because I really did hate it for some time, but the new bottle is just marvelous!

It hasn't been updated online, but if you go into Boots, Superdrug & Tesco you will no doubt see the new bottles.

L'Oreal Strikes AGAIN!

My love of L'Oreal just keeps on growing, I am currently swooning for True Match and Infallible and now there is a new foundation in town and I am loving it as well. The newest release from them is their Infallible Matte Foundation and to match a Mattifying Primer, today will be a double trouble review because they are indeed two products that need to be used, in my opinion together.
Infallible Matte Foundation

Packaging
The first thing about this duo is that they are both in squeezy tubes with nozzles as applicators, traditionally foundations from the brand have pumps and are in glass bottles but this is totally new and different to anything I have seen before. The good thing is that at least you can see how much you are using it because of it being clear and you don't have to spend ages shaking around to try and get the last drops out of the pump. The bad thing, it goes everywhere - it is very hard to control the amount of product that comes out and I struggle! You can also see on the back of each one it tells you the texture and the coverage, that is such a good idea but sometimes not such a good one as brands think that their products are better than what they actually are...
Infallible Matte Foundation

Primer
In my eyes this is a silicone texture primer, feels very much like the Benefit Porefressional but is clear rather than coloured. It is also very wet and take a few minutes to sink into the sink, so I leave a gap between applying this and my foundation. I personally think that this primer only works with the L'Oreal primer to keep you matte all day, but that doesn't mean to say it doesn't work well with other foundations, because it does, just not as long lasting and doesn't turn a dewy foundation like True Match into a matte one. After sinking into the skin, my skin feels as smooth as hell - is that really weird??
Infallible Matte Foundation

Foundation
The star of the show and another one to add to my holy grail list, the foundation is everything you expect from L'Oreal and more if you ask me! It has a very thick consistency, which is scary but then again they claim it to be 'full coverage' so it isn't much of a surprise. The beauty of the foundation is that when you blend it into your skin it feels really light weight and as though there isn't anything on your face. In one layer it covers up most of the redness, spots and evens out my skin tone. But to get that heavy coverage which covers everything and anything you definitely need two even layers, don't be put off by the consistency because you actually need the tiniest little bit and it goes a long way. It is meant to be a matte foundation and I fully believe that because as you can see in the pictures nothing is looking dewy, but part of me still has to powder due to not trusting my out of control oil that creeps up during the day.
One thing is for sure that as well as using a primer, you do need to moisturise if your skin is dry - I found that around my nose and my hairline it was clinging to it and looked horrible but the second time after a rather large helping of coca butter it was much better, not perfect but better.

Infallible Matte Foundation

With only the foundation and primer on

I cannot heavily fault this duo that much, because it is all good! If you happen to pop into Boots/Superdrug soon then keep any eye out for it and pick it up to try! The shades are very limited so do make sure you swatch, test and try them all out.

Budget Buys| L'oreal True Match vs Infallible

L'oreal True Match vs Infallible

I have been loving L'Oreal foundations recently, and thought instead of reviewing them each on their own, a comparison would show you which might be for you and what makes them different. I purchased the True Match last June time after hearing so many good words about it, and then when I went back to repurchase it I decided to pick up the Infallible one as well as it was on offer!

Washing Makeup Brushes With Micellar Water?!

Yes, you did the read the title right. Forget all this shampoo and using a fancy makeup cleaner, I discovered a few weeks ago that using micellar water will clean your brushes to make them look as good as new. I actually am trying to finish up this L'oreal one so its the perfect way to use it up even quicker. Here's what you need, and then I will run you through the super easy process.

Washing Makeup Brushes With Micellar Water?!
1. So once you have everything together, you want to pour some of the micellar water into a cup or a dish and you may need a little amount and sometimes a lot, it really depends on how many brushes you have and how much product is on them. I found I used loads for my buffing brush and hardly any for eye brushes.
Washing Makeup Brushes With Micellar Water?!
2. Then you want to take your messy brushes and dip and swirl them around until your brush is covered in the micellar water, I gave them a good swirl around and made sure the entire bottom was covered.
Washing Makeup Brushes With Micellar Water?!
3. Then the final step is to take your face cloth/towel or even tissue if you want and to just drain the water out so there isn't anything left. If there is any makeup still coming out then go back in to your cup and give it another swirl. And then you should be good to go, after washing you will see that your brushes are clean and it took hardly any time!

How super simple was that?! Why didn't I know that before!!

L'oreal Micellar Water+Velvety Soft Toner|| Review

L'oreal Micellar Water+Velvety Soft Toner|

As the world of beauty develops we get more and more dupes coming our way, everything from lipsticks to foundations. Today I bring you a duo from L'oreal - many believe that this Micellar Water is a dupe for Bioderma. But I can't compare it to anything as I haven't tried anything else! A while back when i wanted to buy the water, I ended up buying the toner instead and fell in love with, but felt that it was missing something! Soon to discover the water was on offer in Superdrug and I didn't even think twice about before buying it. They work even better together then they do on their own.

L'oreal Micellar Water
First up the star of the show and this blog post, I started using this as soon as I got it. I start off by wiping my face with a makeup removing wipe and then use this water to remove anything else that is left on my face, and it is crazy to see how much comes off on a cotton pad. I have seen such a big difference in my skin after using this as it turns out I was never actually cleaning my skin properly. It is also designed for sensitive skin which has me written all over it! I haven't used it with eye makeup yet but I believe that it will be amazing!

Velvety Soft Toner
Now even though, the Micellar Water tones your skin as well, I like to use the velvety soft toner after as well to just calm my skin down. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and cleaned! Even though this toner has a scent to it, I love it!! It doesn't harm my skin in anyway and doesn't make it feel dry at all, it smells delicious! It is called Velvety for the right reason as my skin feels sooo smooth and soft afterwards!

I want to try some more things from the L'oreal skincare range as I think my skin really likes it!
