Winter Sun Preparation

All being well, my friend and I will be heading off to Croatia on Saturday for some much needed R&R! Like everyone, we've had the most hectic year and she's even graduated during all the madness! As a treat and celebration, we decided to book a few days away during October half term and I for one can't wait. We've taken all the precautions, have everything ready and can't wait to hopefully catch some winter sun! As well as working this week, I've also been getting myself ready for the holiday and here are some of the standouts for me...

Holiday Dreaming

I always find that around this time of year people start to book their holidays if they haven't done already. Whether it be jetting off to a desert island or somewhere local and cheap, having somewhere to go and look forward to helps get through the long days and nights at work/university. As a person, I consider myself a holiday freak. One of those that has to start planning, preparing and packing (or the three p's) months before I am due to go.

Take Me Back to Mauritius

This time last year I was sat on the beach in the middle of the gorgeous island that is Mauritius. It was by fat the best 2 weeks away, after a busy year of A-Levels. Its actually quite depressing that my timehop keeps showing me pictures of it and this year I'm stuck in rainy England - yay.
Mauritius

I didn't really talk about the trip when I went, so I thought a little throwback style, very picture heavy post was a better idea! Mauritius is a volcanic island in the middle of the Indian ocean. On such a small island there is so much to do, from hiking, seeing waterfalls to staying by the gorgeous beaches that are surrounding you everywhere. Post of these pictures are of the beach because that's where we spent most of our time, who wouldn't when it is so picturesque? Our summer time is their winter so we experienced a few rain showers whilst out there but the weather is still hot, I'd love to go back in December time when it is really hot!

Skin Sincare Miniatures Review

Its August and time for the majority of people to fly away on their summer holidays! I for one can't believe how fast this year is going and that summer will soon be over ðŸ˜±ðŸ˜±ðŸ˜±

Where ever you maybe travelling to this summer, be it abroad or in your local country you are always going to need travel minis. For me, its the best thing to buy when you go away or even the depotting process to get your favourite products into a smaller container. Skin Sincere have just released their products in mini version, in time for the holiday season.

The range includes everything from cleansers to hand creams and all retail for under £7. The Skin Sincere brand is based on natural, organic skincare that is suitable for all skin types even the sensitive type. They're an ethical brand that is against animal testing, free of parabens and sulphates. I've taken these with me for the past few weekends when we've gone away and they have made packing a lot easier.

Holiday Preperation #holidayhype

Don't know about you but I would rather be on holiday. Whether it be somewhere with a beach, plenty to do - as long as its away! In a recent YouGov survey, it was reported that only 31% of people get excited about going on holiday. 1 in 3 woman worry about their weight everyday that they're on holiday.

I for think that you shouldn't be worrying about your weight on holiday, its a time to enjoy yourself and be free! Getting excited for the holiday is just as fun, its actually the best part. No matter how stressful, it really is all part of the process!

Beach/Poolside Essentials

Beach/Poolside Essentials
Apologies that this post is so late, I have no idea where the pictures for this post went - scary. But, whilst on the beach in Mauritius I wanted to share with you my Beach/Poolside essentials, things that I just have to have with me.

Reading Material // I love having a trashy magazine to read whilst soaking up the sun, but on a flight that was 16 hours the magazines were all finished. The HELLO! Fashion magazine that I picked up came with a free book from Lindsey Kelk, author of the Shopaholic series and this is her new collection of books and I whizzed through it. A great read.

Sun Lotion (Body + Face) // For the body I love using the Aloha Ultralite Sun Lotion it is a non-greasy formula and sinks into the skin as soon as you apply it. Sunscreen is a hate of mine but a love as well as it protects you. And I personally prefer applying a separate one on my face like this one from Eucerin it came in the LIB box, a product that I wasn't expecting to love but do. I took it to Germany and Mauritius with me, and need to buy another one due to it nearly running out on me and summer in mind is still happening!

Lip Balm // Something I picked up last minute at the airport, as my lips were extremely dry from all the travelling. I also tended to opt for only lip balm on my lips during the day and not the 100 lipsticks that I packed with me.

Insect Repellent // This is a must when your in a country where little insects are flying around everywhere. These are actually wipes that I found in the Poundshop, and actually worked really well.

Hand Wipes // Another necessity wherever you go in the world/near sand where everything gets really messy and these smell amazing so I couldn't resist getting them.

Glasses Holder// A very fancy and boring accessory to have, but this allows me to wear my glasses and swim so I don't have to be blind. They clip on to the back like a headband and you can find them in Boots!

What are you essentials?

Blogmas Day 16 || Festive Berry Makeup ♥

If you are a little strapped for cash this month (as most of us are) I decided to create a little shopping list for you all that won't tear that purse of yours. Here a few drugstore items that you can to create an amazing festive look - my theme was to keep it natural with bold coloured lips/nails. Everything on the picture and mentioned is linked at the end!

Primer - If you want your makeup to last as long as possible then you need to apply some primer that suits your skin best..I suggest trying this out in advance rather than on the day you decide to look pretty. A smooth base will allow you to apply your makeup easier and give you that flawless finish.
Foundation - You don't always have to go for a full coverage foundation, but I find that for special occasions we like a little more coverage. Personally, I like using high coverage foundations that don't need any concealer on top..this is saving you and money. If you feel the need to cover and conceal a little more then just apply a small amount of your foundation and blend it well.
Bronzer - If you prefer the tanned, bronzed look then contour those cheeks and your temples to look amazing. I think that matt bronzers are much better than shimmer ones as it doesn't make you look mucky and is easier to pile on the colour.
Blusher - Bourjous for me own it, when it comes to blushes. And these cream blushes are great as they last a lot longer and you can apply as little or as much as you want depending on your preferred look.Blushes come in so many different colours and shades.
Mascara - I haven't added much eye makeup for this festive look as the lips are very bold, so you want your lips to be the centre of attention not your heavy eyes. Of course you can add neutral eye shadows if you want and some eyeliner, but I like a good coat of mascara to seal the deal and this one from Rimmel really gives you volume.
Nail Polish - I love matching my nails to my makeup/outfit and this Raspberry colour from BarryM is perfect as it only really requires one coat and you are good to go in a rush. The colour is beautiful and perfect for this festive season. And BarryM are so affordable as well.
Lipgloss - This lipgloss from Revlon is what I based this whole look around, if you pick one bold bright lip colour then work the rest of your face around it not the other way round. Even those these are very sheer, you can build it up with a lip liner, lipstick or even just the gloss on its own.
