Garnier Shampoo Bars Review

A brand that always seems to be innovative with haircare is Garnier, after recently announcing that they were now Cruelty Free, the brand has been coming out with so many amazing new launches. I love their Ultimate Blends range and when the new shampoo bars landed on my doorstep I couldn't wait to give them a go. My hair is in desperate need of a cut, its so thick and gets tangled so easily! Anything to help me wash it and help it by infusing it with lovely products is good for me.

Pantene 3 Minute Miracle

I've said this time and time again that my hair is just something that I do not care for very much, I have always stuck to basic products that do the job and that’s pretty much it. With my graduation fast approaching, I have started to take more care of my hair because I want it to look shiny and grow enough to have an elegant looking hairstyle.

12 Days of Frizz Ease: Dream Curls Styling Spray

How excited are people that it is now December? I am officially in full blown Christmas mood and slowly but surely am getting everything ready for the big day. In the countdown to Christmas, John Frieda have launched their 12 Days of Frizz Ease campaign, over 12 days this month, different influences (including myself today number 5) will be showcasing different products from their incredible line.

Back in May of this year, which seems so long ago now! I tried out the shampoo and conditioner from this line (full review) and immediately fell in love. I've been using non-stop since it was introduced to me, my hair is so much smoother, shiny and sleek compared to when I use other products. The entire Frizz Ease range is great if you are wanting to achieve salon like hair at home for a fraction of the price. There are different products to give you a full haircare routine and let me tell you, it works wonders.

The newest product in my routine is the Frizz Ease Dream Curls Styling Spray. I have very stubborn straight hair, products such as these and hairspray are required to help the curls stay in place and last longer. After a few weeks of trialling it, I have a variety of different ways to use it. The first way is the night before I am wanting curls, by washing my hair using the above products from the line and applying this spray when my hair is slightly damp. I then run the hairdryer through it to slightly dry and add some volume and by doing this upside down, finishing it off by doing two french braids. I am awful at doing them but I have watched a lot of videos to learn the tips. The next morning, I unravel the plaits to reveal mermaid like waves. These last me about the whole day and that night I dampen my hair over the sink (so lady like) reapply the spray and repeat the process. So quick and easy to do!

The alternative, is washing my hair in the morning, applying the spray doing a rough dry with the hairdryer and then using the Instyler that I mentioned in my post on Saturday, it curls as well as straightens the hair and in so much less time than your average curlers. I love the way I can play around with the thickness and style of curl, in these pictures I have used this tool and achieved the mermaid style waves a braid would create but through using a tool. The styling spray might be aimed more at naturally curly haired people but even me over here with straight hair can still use it and force my hair to think that it is naturally curly, we all wish for something that we don't have and curly hair is mine. The styling spray controls the frizz that curls produce but without making the hair feel tacky and greasy, using it regularly has made an impact on how my curls sit and stay.

It is fair to stay that my love affair with the John Frieda Frizz Ease range continues for good reasons. If you have curly hair and need something to define them or have straight hair and need something to control them then this is for you! Be sure to keep a look out on social media for the other posts about the range and see what else might tickle your fancy!

Currently Loving

There are so many products that I am loving currently, some of which haven't had a mention on here ever! Monthly favourites fizzle in and out fashion as a blog post, so I thought of just choosing some of my favourite products at the moment and mashing them together in one post.
I find myself using the same products so often and to death, that I end up using things up before I have even had the chance to talk about them, hopefully I can keep making these types of posts!

Frizz Fighting Trio

John Frieda Frizz EaseThere are a few beauty things that I am really bad at, one being looking after my hair. It never really occurs to me that I need to look after it, a trip to the hairdressers only happens when I have time and can remember. Products wise, I don't tend to use many things due to not knowing what is best for my hair and what isn't. These past few weeks, I have testing out three products from the John Frieda Frizz Ease range*on my very straight, thick hair. Who knew that frizz targeted products would actually help and make a difference.

4 Ways to Keep Your Hair Healthy This Winter

I'm very guilty of giving my face and body a lot more attention than my hair, the lucious locks that I have sitting on my head seem to take a backseat during the winter and its time to change that. This winter, as well as focusing on my skincare, makeup and body care, I am giving more love to my hair. Here are some easy tips and helpful hints to keeping your hair healthy and happy this winter.

The Hair Tool You Need

Finding ways to make my morning routine that little simpler is what I aim for in life, from making my lunch the night before to not spending 15 minutes trying to take the knots out of my hair. Its a blessing from above that I have been given thick, straight hair and trying to get knots out after sleeping, walking in the wind or having it up for 5 minutes is a nightmare.

But since discovering the Tangle Teezer* my life has turned around (sounds dramatic, but if you have thick hair then you'll understand. Its a brush that detangles hair without damaging, pulling and pain - leaving you with tangle free, soft hair.

Irresistible Me Diamond Hair Styler Review

Having gorgeous straight hair is something that we all strive for, for me it takes a lot of time, effort and money. The hair gods blessed me with thick, black hair and up to the age of 13 very, very straight hair. So straight that I never had to use straighteners and curls just wouldn't stay put.
Then, as time has gone by its started to go more on the wavy side - which I personally prefer. It gives my hair some texture, movement and allows me to do different styles without it falling out within minutes. When it comes to going to work and looking professional, I love having that silky, soft, straight hair look. It looks so much better and nothing can beat it!

Irresistible Me Diamond Hair Styler Review

Rush Hair York

The relationship I have with my hair is very odd, sometimes I love it and there are days where I want to cut it all off and have a Britney Spears moment. Its thick, stick straight and sometimes gets to a length that I love but hate. All sounds very complicated, sorry!

The other day I headed to York, which is such a beautiful city. If you ever get the chance to go, you must - discover the little cobble streets, the cute cafes and the lovely sites. Hidden within the market streets is the new Rush Hair Salon.  It opened just 3 weeks ago and from hearing what owner Jess had to say, business is doing really well. The salon is open Monday to Friday till 8, Saturday till 6.30 and on a Sunday till 5pm. To fit around working peoples schedules, brilliant or what?

The salon is absolutely gorgeous, all black and professional. It is also huge, you go to a fancy room in the back to get your hair washed - pretty amazing. Before the washing happened, Jess sat down with me and talked all things hair. I really loved the length of my current hair but when she looked at the layers in the back she suggested it might be better to take a little more off and then my layers will blend much better.

Nanokeratin System Invigorating Shampoo & Hydrating Conditioner

Nanokeratin System Invigorating Shampoo & Hydrating Conditioner

I love trying out new shampoos and conditioners, especially ones that are meant to be used together as part of a brand/range. For my last few washes I have been using the Nanokeratin System  Invigorating Shampoo and Hydrating Condition* and as a duo they have made my hair irresistible.

REVIVE Invigorating Shampoo - Each of the Revive Products are specially formulated to target different hair types and mine is best described as 'natural/virgin' as there has nothing been done to it not even hair dye. I like to look after it and keep the natural black colour that I am very lucky to have. The shampoo lathers up really well and even this small sample was more than enough for my thick hair, so I can only imagine how long a full sized bottle would last me. I love the smell of this shampoo its fresh and very awakening for the morning.

REVIVE Hydrating Conditioner -  I never have been a fan on conditioner as I always had this thought of it making my hair greasier quicker. But I soon realised that it was the type that was wrong. I need to use hydrating ones, the ones that balances out my hair and gives it deep cleanse. The Revive one restores my hair back to normality after stripping it of everything through shampoo and then leaves it feeling silky and soft.

Using both of these it made me feel like I was in a hair advert, swish swoosh!

Garnier Ultimate Blends 'The Shine Revitalising Shampoo'|Review

Garnier Ultimate Blends 'The Shine Revitalising Shampoo'Garnier Ultimate Blends 'The Shine Revitalising Shampoo'

I don't usually post shampoo reviews, because I go through so many and try out so many that I didn't see the point of writing about millions of different ones. This is all about to change because, no lie, I have found my true match. For now anyway.
Let me introduce to you the Garnier Ultimate Blends 'Shine Revitalising' Shampoo (What a name!) which is currently my hair care baby and love it with all my heart. The new Garnier Ultimate Blends range has been designed specifically for different hair types and there is bound to be something for you on the shelf, I got this one because I have 'Normal Hair' but there are ones for 'Damaged, Thin, Oily ect' so more than enough choice for everyone. The type of shampoo wasn't the only thing that got my attention but also the things inside it..there is Lemon and Green Tea?! Which sounds so weird to be in a shampoo but apparently that helps with 'helping the hair feeling refreshed and non-greasy' and trust me when I say that it does exactly that. There is also a conditioner and dry shampoo to match, which I also want to get my hands on as I believe they will be as good as this shampoo and can you imagine just how amazing the three would work together on my hair - it will be like the three musketeers.
You can find out more here, on the Garnier website as well as buying it in Boots, Superdrug ect.!
The Shine Revitaliser - The signature blend with Lemon & Green Tea tailor-made for normal hair.
They have carefully crafted this zesty blend with Chinese Green Tea, an ancient source of vitality, Mediterranean Lemon extract, renowned for boosting shine .
This lightweight formula with its invigoranting fragrance leaves hair bursting with life.
Hair bounces with incredible shine, as if transformed.

Have you tried anything from the range? Or even what is your holy grail shampoo, I would love to know!
