End of Summer Favourites

My summer officially ended on Monday when I went back to work :( Six glorious weeks off and now back to the grind. Even though I do love the lazy days, hot weather and doing nothing at all - being back at work feels good. I'm slowly getting back into a routine and actually have things to do, which is nice! Over the summer, I have discovered so many new products. From haircare to lip care, there has been lots. So, I thought it would be nice to whittle them down and select a few standouts to share with you today...

2 Must Have Eyeshadow Palettes under £10

I'm addicted to ''drugstore'' makeup. There are so many things that attract me to it; the quality, price, accessibility and the wider range of brands that are available. Years ago, there was only a few brands stocked in both Boots and Superdrug but now there is so much choice and variety! I love L'Oreal, Maybelline and for the past couple of years Revolution. They've killed the makeup game and are constantly bringing out products that are incredible. I was very touched when they got in touch to send me a couple of bits and lets just say - they did not disappoint.

4 Affordable Powders for Oily Skin

Powder. Some hate it, some love it - my oily skin needs it. For years I have been a royal lover of Rimmel Stay Matte. I first discovered it in the late years of high school (over 6 years ago) and have not switched to anything else. It works well with every single foundation that I have ever owned but last year, it was time to venture out and I ended up finding 3 additions that have blown me away and they're all under £10!

Skincare for Oily Skin

Skincare is the canvas to your makeup, it is such an important step whether you wear makeup everyday or not, your skin has to be looked about. The hard thing is finding the right products for your skin and knowing which works. It is all a trial and error process, I am constantly finding out what my skin loves and loathes. After what seems like forever, I have found products that work but still love trying out new ones and seeing what they are like. Today, I am talking through a few bits that are perfect for oily skin, they work a treat.

The I Didn't Mean To Buy It Haul

I worked in Leeds a few days this week and lets just say working around the corner from all the shops is VERY DANGEROUS. I have spent so much of my lunch hour going for a browse, when I really shouldn't have! At the moment the high street/ drugstore brands are killing it, with so many new releases and Superdrug pretty much have every offer going. It is only a small haul but full of things that I am excited to try.

3 Highligters Under £10

Spring is the most talked about topic on my social media and here on the blog, it is safe to say that excited is an understatment. In the getting ready for spring post that was posted last week, there was a lot of talk about glow, dewiness and all round looking illuminous. Both on my instagram and the post there was a lot of love for a particular highlighter palette and this stemed this post, three gorgeous highlighters for under £10 (well just about). Who said you had to spends ££ to achieve that glow?

The Drugstore Lip Kit Showdown

Liquid lipsticks are some of my favourite formula's, you can apply them early in the morning and still have it there (or enough) by the evening. More recently, the lip kit phenomena has taken over the beauty industry - the concept of having a matching lip liner to the liquid lipstick.

Boots Haul

We've all done it, walked into Boots with a list of essentials like nail polish remover and ended up walking out with a 5p bag full of makeup because you can't handle yourself. Just me then.  Going into Boots the other day was very exciting because all the stands had just been stocked up again and there were so many new offers on all brands, the beauty addict inside of me couldn't resist.

Budget Buys| L'oreal True Match vs Infallible

L'oreal True Match vs Infallible

I have been loving L'Oreal foundations recently, and thought instead of reviewing them each on their own, a comparison would show you which might be for you and what makes them different. I purchased the True Match last June time after hearing so many good words about it, and then when I went back to repurchase it I decided to pick up the Infallible one as well as it was on offer!

NEW IN| Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes | Review and Swatches

Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes

If you are currently swooning over the look of these blushes, then you have every right! I saw them in Superdrug the other day and had to get the post up straight away and let you all know about them - because they are just unbelievable. These are the new releases from Max Factor and now I have two, I want to buy more and here is why...

The Edit| Summer Drugstore

Summer Drugstore
Summer is officially here! Woooo. Here is the guest post I did on Jenny's blog! To mean it means only one thing, getting rid of all the dark makeup and bringing out the bright colours, summer is all about the lighter bases and for me that pop of colour on the lips and nails. Today I am going to talk you through my favourites for this season from the drug store/boots/superdrug. I found it very difficult to narrow down to just a few products..but I seem to have managed.

The Face

Summer Drugstore

Simple Illuminating Cream // Since owning this, I haven't stopped using it. I love to use it under any type of bb cream and foundation. It gives that dewy kind of look yet doesn't look overdone and too much.
Collection Bronze Glow // I am not the biggest fan of bronzers but something about something about this is amazing. I don't swirl the brush around the whole thing, instead just the corners?! And apply a little bit.
Sleek Rose Gold Blush // Again blusher is something I am slowly getting into, and this is really what also started the rose gold obsession. Amazing everyday blush to quickly apply and rush out the door.
The Lips
Summer Drugstore
Summer Drugstore
Revlon Vivacious Balm // I've actually worn this through winter as well, but for summer this is perfect. It is fairly sheer and can be built up for it to be like wow in your face.
MUA Kiss & Tell // This is more of a gloss and very heavy duty but lasts all day on your lips, similar to the rimmel lip lacquers. You can see in the swatch above that this is a deep pink.
Revlon Sweet Tart Lip Butter //  If you're not daring and want to keep it natural then this and any of the lip butters are perfect for you because they are sheer and moisturising.
Maybelline Baby Lips // I bought this in the pound shop the other day and they are the original baby lips and for a £1 you can't go wrong.
The Nails
Summer Drugstore
The hardest of them all. I could have shown you about 20 different colours and brands ect but I have some how managed to narrow it down to only three!! Yes three.
Rimmel Hip Hop // Ahh, the formula of these are amazing and I really want to try more. I seem to be really liking rimmel at the moment..no idea why! This beautiful coral/red colour is that perfect toe nails colour to show through your sandals.
Rimmel Breakfast in Bed // A new one to the collection and currently on both my fingers and toes (very chipped ) but a beautiful colour so it can stay on for as long as it likes. When I heard HelloOctober/ Susie rave about it I knew I had to get my hands on asap and boy I am glad I did.
Essie Bikini So Teeny // A oldie but a goodie. Essie is just amazing and I think that everyone should have this shade in their collection as it suits everyone and the formula and brush is amazing.

Top 10 under £10|| Beauty

Top 10 under £10
Today I thought I would bring you a Top 10 under £10, where I talk about my favourite then things for under a whopping ten pounds. This post is all about my fav beauty items, and who knows maybe more of these in the future?! It was so difficult to pick just 10 items as I am a big drug store fan and love anything that is under £10, but I managed to narrow it down without repeating a lot of things.
Top 10 under £10
MUA Heaven&Earth Palette - This was the first eye shadow palette I ever purchased. The new sticker just shows how long I have had it for as I bought it when MUA first started up in Superdrug stores. I love the shades in this palette! Very neutral and great for every day, they are also very pigmented and last a long time with some primer on underneath. I haven't bought any of the other MUA only eye shadow palettes (par the artiste one which has bronzers and blushes in it) because I don't want to forget about this one.
Collection Concealer - The best thing I have ever bought, this was taken when I was just about running out and recently featured in my empties post a few weeks back. I love the coverage this stuff gives, and find that it is the only concealer I can use for my blemishes and that it doesn't dry out or look really flaky.
Simple BB Cream - This isn't a very talked about product because it isn't really something you associate with as Simple is a skincare brand. But when this launched, I had my eyes set on it because I knew that I would most probably fall in love with. And boy I did. At first, I really didn't like it as it only comes in one universal shade that claims to match any skin tone - but then after finding different ways around it...I love it and it just squeezes under the ten pound tag.
Maybelline Mascara - I find this mascara to be the one for me. It does everything it needs to and more. Why? Well because it lengthens whilst adding volume to your lashes and makes them look amazingly natural. I prefer the waterproof formula over the normal as the normal is very drying.
Top 10 under £10
Revlon Lip Butters - One of the best ways to add some colour to your lips, the shade range for these things are amazing and if you haven't tried one yet I seriously recommend them. They are very moisturising and give your lips colour whilst looking normal. If that makes sense?
Maybelline Baby Lips - These things are so two sided, because some people hate them and some love them like me. I like using them on my lips at night time because I wake up with all the dryness gone and they feel soo soft. I also love the tinted ones if I am having a lazy day to make my self look a little more presentable.
MUA Lipsticks - The cheapest things in this whole post. These lipsticks retail for only £1 and in my opinion will be the best pound you ever spend. Even though I find that they don't last very long on the lips, they are very pigmented and so moisturising. The recently launched Matte ones are also great however there isn't a very big range of colours to choose from.
Top 10 under £10
Elegant Touch Nail Spray -  A recent discovery of mine and one that I have not regretted at all. This is the spray version of a rapid drying top coat, it is much cheaper than buying all this seche vite business and will dry your nails quicker than you can say super cala fragilistic expialidocious. The oily residue that is left over may annoy you at first glance, but if you rub it into your cuticles you are good to go.
BarryM Gelly -  Who doesn't love these? If you are wanting to get that salon manicure gel effect thing at home then seriously go and invest in a few shades of these gelly formula nail polishes from barrym. They are rapidly becoming my addiction and you can see the one on the right 'Lychee' is by far my favourite shade. I am always reaching out to paint my nails with these babies because they are so glossy, long lasting and have amazing colour payoff.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Love P x

Haul||Primark Jewellery,Poundland&Boots
In half term I went to do some shopping but only really spent my time in Primark staring at the pretty jewellery as they have some really lovely things in at the moment! And then I went to Boots and let's just say the current 3for2 and my double points vouchers did the better of me and a quick stop in Poundland to see what goodies they currently have to offer.

Haul||Primark Jewellery,Poundland&Boots

I don't know why or how but Primark have been getting in on point at the moment. I decided to update my accessories for the summer time and spring with some pastel coloured stuff as most of what I own is winter stuff. Plus, going to college at the moment and wearing normal clothes proves difficult If you don't have accessories to jazz it up. The first thing I spotted was this stunning flower statement necklace, that I cannot stop staring at - it will look great in the spring/summer with a peter pan collar or even with a jumper. To match that I also bought a bracelet that is fairly similar and some cute little earrings that come with simple pearl ones as well for everyday wear. I picked up some Midi Rings as well as I think that they look super cool to wear and ace when stacked up with different rings, along with some other rings that you can't really see in this picture as they are facing the wrong way but they come in a set with a flower and bow too. I also bought one packet of their false nails as so many people on my twitter and instagram feed have been raving about how long they last, so I got these printed daisy ones.

Then I promised my self that If I go into boots I have to spend wisely and it would then mean no more beauty spending for a few months. So I stocked up with some things that I have been wanting for a long time, so the 3 for 2 deal was superb! I headed straight to buy the new things that Revlon have recently launched first the  Matte Balm in 'Sultry' and 'Elusive'  then a Lacquer Balm in 'Vivacious' all of which are so pigmented and feel super soft when I swatch them on my hands. Then I bought another Revlon Lip Butter; these things are amazing and slowly becoming a habit of mine to buy! This new one is in 'Pink Truffle' a shade I have had my eye on for a long time, the perfect everyday nude. I also picked up the new Maybelline foundation that claims to help you skin, the disappointing thing with this is that the shade range wasn't the greatest so I went with '020 Cameo' as it was the closest I could get to my skin. I have also been wanting to try the erase under eye concealer for the longest time and decided to just buy it try out and after using it twice now I have fallen in love with it. I picked up another of my concealers as I need a new one to use, along with the constantly raved about Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. Lord knows, how many people talk about this on youtube and blogs so I thought I would try it out.

I just had to pop into Poundland really quickly to see what they have to offer and to my surprise they had some things I was eyeing up online a few weeks back. I bought two Revlon Nail Polishes in Minted and Grey Suede as well as the Witch Tinted Moisturiser. I am a big fan of the brand so I have high hopes for this wonder product.

Blogmas Day 16 || Festive Berry Makeup ♥

If you are a little strapped for cash this month (as most of us are) I decided to create a little shopping list for you all that won't tear that purse of yours. Here a few drugstore items that you can to create an amazing festive look - my theme was to keep it natural with bold coloured lips/nails. Everything on the picture and mentioned is linked at the end!

Primer - If you want your makeup to last as long as possible then you need to apply some primer that suits your skin best..I suggest trying this out in advance rather than on the day you decide to look pretty. A smooth base will allow you to apply your makeup easier and give you that flawless finish.
Foundation - You don't always have to go for a full coverage foundation, but I find that for special occasions we like a little more coverage. Personally, I like using high coverage foundations that don't need any concealer on top..this is saving you and money. If you feel the need to cover and conceal a little more then just apply a small amount of your foundation and blend it well.
Bronzer - If you prefer the tanned, bronzed look then contour those cheeks and your temples to look amazing. I think that matt bronzers are much better than shimmer ones as it doesn't make you look mucky and is easier to pile on the colour.
Blusher - Bourjous for me own it, when it comes to blushes. And these cream blushes are great as they last a lot longer and you can apply as little or as much as you want depending on your preferred look.Blushes come in so many different colours and shades.
Mascara - I haven't added much eye makeup for this festive look as the lips are very bold, so you want your lips to be the centre of attention not your heavy eyes. Of course you can add neutral eye shadows if you want and some eyeliner, but I like a good coat of mascara to seal the deal and this one from Rimmel really gives you volume.
Nail Polish - I love matching my nails to my makeup/outfit and this Raspberry colour from BarryM is perfect as it only really requires one coat and you are good to go in a rush. The colour is beautiful and perfect for this festive season. And BarryM are so affordable as well.
Lipgloss - This lipgloss from Revlon is what I based this whole look around, if you pick one bold bright lip colour then work the rest of your face around it not the other way round. Even those these are very sheer, you can build it up with a lip liner, lipstick or even just the gloss on its own.

MUA Lipstick Review; Shade 11 ♥

MUA Lipstick Review; Shade 11
Another drug store review today on a hot summer's day! I recently bought a MUA lipstick after seeing a lot of people on my instagram feed talking about them! So I got sucked into all the hype and spent only £1 on one! How cheap is that! I love the MUA range because of how affordable it is, and the lip products haven't been purchased by me before so this is a first!
MUA Lipstick Review; Shade 11

I am also in love with the packaging because it is a sleek black bottle with a clear bottom so you can actually see the colour of the product. I decided to go with shade 11 because I wanted to get something pink but very subtle there is also another shade that I have my eye on.

MUA Lipstick Review; Shade 11

These pictures really don't do the lipstick justice! It is so highly pigmented and you are paying for what you see. It is a very smooth, soft texture and feels very light and comfortable on the lips. The colour is also great if you want to build it and make it more intense but I like the nude pink for everyday.
MUA Lipstick Review; Shade 11

I will be purchasing some more and maybe just build a collection. To say I am not a big lipstick lover- I Love this!
