Autumn Transitional Favourites

Autumn is one of those seasons where the weather really is unpredictable. You just can't call on what is going to happen. Last week, I had my coat out for the first half of the week and then put it away towards the end. With the dark mornings making a return its time to give the makeup and skincare routine a shake up to get ready for the cold season. I thought I would share with you my favourite transitional items...

Currently Loving

There are so many products that I am loving currently, some of which haven't had a mention on here ever! Monthly favourites fizzle in and out fashion as a blog post, so I thought of just choosing some of my favourite products at the moment and mashing them together in one post.
I find myself using the same products so often and to death, that I end up using things up before I have even had the chance to talk about them, hopefully I can keep making these types of posts!

Autumn is Coming - Lips

Now for the instalment of Autumn Is Coming that I have been very excited for - LIPS! By far my favourite make-up item out there, I could spend £1 or even 1 million pounds on them - they are just amazing. There are a lot of colours that I love at this time of year, and ones that I am still finding when browsing instagram. But these four are the ones I have been going for these past few weeks making them more of my 'current favourites' rather than all time.

1. (Bottom) Wet 'n' Wild in Cinnamon Spice £2.20 Amazon
This is the berriest shade of the four and it a lipstick that is to die for. I am so thankful for Mollie sending me this in the swap that we did because Wet 'n' Wild lipsticks that amazing, and worth the hyper that surronds them. They are only £2 and are creamy, long lasting and smell glorious. The lipstick glides on to the lips like butter and the semi-matte finish doesn't cake or flake away. I do find some bleeding after a few hours but this is due to no lip liner which is changing from today, as I am on the hunt for a berry lip liner for all these colours.
I spoke about this wonderful lipstick just a few weeks ago in my 2 Seventeen Lip Products You Need To Try post. I love this lipstick because even though it is rich in colour and has a pinky undertone it's slightly glossy, making it easier to wear during the day. It is also very hydrating so perfect for those dry and cold lips.
3. Revlon Lip-Butter in Red Velvet £7.99 Boots
I always thought that Revlon Lip butters were only for the summer time, this is due to the shades I had but infact after a trip to Boots last month I realised I was missing out. This lip butter not only has a name that makes me go hungry every time I use it but its a great colour. This is very red compared to the others, yet not a scary colour as the formula of butters are sheer. This means you can either wear it so that it doesn't really show, or build it up. Similar to the Seventeen lipstick the formula is moisturising and 'buttery' making you want to wear it as often as possible.
4. (Top) Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Frambourjoise £8.99 Superdrug
Finally we have a lipstick that is a completely different colour to the other three, this is a true pink, Don't let pink scare you, or make you think that its only for summer nights because it most definitely isn't. If reds and berrys scare you then going pink is your next option and a formula like the velvet ones are perfect as it lasts all day and feels amazing on the lips. If you mix it with a red lip liner you deepen the colour and make it more autumnal.

What are your favourite autumnal lip products?

Autumn Is Coming - Nails

Autumn Is Coming - Nails

Autumn Is Coming - Nails

Welcome to the first installment of Autumn is Coming, a series where I show you how I am getting ready for the transition into the new season and my favourite picks. Of course I have to kick things off with my nail colour's of the season, and as you can see I am kind of obsessed and all 9 are very similar. The first three are probably the ones I will be going for the most this year as they are by my favourite, the first two are more of your typical purple and then Paprika is a very unusual colour, burnt orange and it is stunning with an all cream outfit!

The next four are 'pedicure colour's' not to dark to make my fee look invisible but also still sticking to the autumnal colour. Uptown is a colour that I have now decided can be worn all year round, and the Ted Baker one (part of a gift set at xmas) looks stunning on the toes as it is all glittery and can be worn alone or on top.

Finally we have two choices that I adore but maybe won't be using very often and that is because of the colour more than anything. Slip Stream is a bright purple, lovely but maybe not as autumn appropriate as I thought at first and Urban Purple is like the colour of wine and my skin tone like the latter looks washed out when wearing it.

Why I Bloody Love Autumn

Why I Bloody Love Autumn

It's officially September and in my mind that means it's Autumn/Winter Season! I probably sound like the typical blogger right now because I love the season so damn much, but I genuinely do and here are a few reasons why..

1. Sweater Weather
I love wearing thick woolly jumpers that you can layer over leggings, a scarf and long/ankle boots. Just thinking about it is making me want to put one on right now, I also love the fact that half my uni wardrobe will be this.

2. Dark Colour's
Clothing that is dark can be hard to pull off during the summer but towards the end of the year you don't have any excuse! Wearing everything black/grey is perfectly acceptable and the best thing it doesn't even have to match.

3. Hot Drinks aka Starbucks PSL
Here comes the American inside of me, it's nearly time for the Pumpkin Spice Latte to come back in stores and also a bonus if you don't like coffee try the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate - divine!

4. Smelly Candles
Long time reader then you should then I love candles and will always buy them (even though my university doesn't allow them). Around this time of year I always repurchase the same ones eg Vanilla Chai and Salted Caramel - for more recommendations have a look at my previous posts.

5. Boots
I briefly mentioned these in 1. but it deserves an entire ramble - BOOTS! Knee Length, Short, Ankle, Leather, Pleather, Suede - all of them. I love buying and wearing them because they go with everything and look so stylish at the same time. Primark always have some great ones as do BHS and now is the best time to get them because they sell out quickly.

6. Movie Nights
Any excuse to watch a film all year round but during the winter when you don't want to be going out then staying in is the best option. A good old girly film, blankets, popcorn and of course hot chocolate with marshmallows to top it all off. I watch all the same films, Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Notebook.

7. Leather Jackets
Another fashion favourite this time of year has to be leather jackets, I have a nude one from Primark that is stunning. Looks amazing with leggings and a jumper and they are oh so snug. It takes a while to get used to them again as they can feel sticky at first.

8. Red/Berry Lips
There is going to be a whole post on this very soon but I still had to mention it of course. Dark, berry lips are a staple in my beauty routine - so many options to choose from as well from berry berry to deep reds. I prefer matte formulas as they last longer and look much better, however I hate dry lips. Pain!

9. Smell
This is a weird one to talk about but there must be someone who understands what I mean. The fresh, smell of Autumn is a good one. The crisp leaves and dark nights create like a breezy smell and everywhere I go I can smell it and just admire the area around me. Ooh and the sound of walking on leaves - adore.

10.  The C Word
Dare I even say it but as soon as September hits I secretly start counting down to Christmas. There I said it. But it is really just around the corner, I am a planning freak so have to get mentally prepared from now - sad I know.

Why I Bloody Love Autumn

I have become that obsessed that I just had to create a Pinterest board, which you can find over here and it includes lots of cute photos like the one above and a series of blog posts coming your way very soon!

What do you love about Autumn?

Aumtum Picks; Berry + Nude Lips

Aumtum Picks; Berry + Nude Lips

Another Autumn Picks for you today, if you missed my previous one then make sure to check it out here.  I've done nails and it makes sense in my mind to now do lips, in the Autumn I love wearing Berry colours and deep reds but as you can guess by the title I also wear nudes? Is that allowed? Well, I do and I am sure so many others do.

Aumtum Picks; Berry + Nude Lips

In the order of the swatches above;
2True Lipgloss// I have no idea what shade this is but this lip gloss is less than £2, and its an plum shade and looks amazing in the winter time. If you want something that isn't too heavy in colour so you can still wear it even if you are scared of bold lip colours.
 - MUA Matte in Wild Berry// This is such a gorgeous colour and an amazing formula. This was my most worn lipstick last year and even though it looks like a berry colour in the tube (very deceiving) it comes out this lovely deep pink colour and is warm toned. I wouldn't say it lasts all day and is awful when you have dry lips it looks so flaky.
- Bourjois Rouge in Nude-ist// This is by far my favourite from the whole range, and I think will look perfect in this season because when its on the lips I think it looks really deep and lovely. I won't ramble on for too long because i just love them ok.
Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait// Now on to the nude colours, this one is slightly a pinker nude and is great for you non daring girls. This time of year, its a lovely colour to wear everyday and at night and these are so moisturising too.
Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry// Now, my favourite of the bunch and one I will wear the most this year. This matte balm is a muted red/brown shade and looks natural on the lips even if it looks scary in the tube, the formula is also amazing and very long lasting I suggest you certainly try it out!

Autumn Primark Haul

I did a tiny little bit of shopping in Primark the week, even though I went in with the mind set of buying lots of things I didn't because it was crazy and I just wanted to get out! The things I did pick up however have filled up that little bit of extra space in my wardrobe!

The first place I went to was the shoe department, for some new wide foot flat pumps as mine are on the verge of collapsing! Primark have the cheapest ones compared to anywhere else in the world and even though they don't last very long, they are very very comfy!

I then picked up some more nails and if you saw this post, then you will know that I loved the first packet I got and it was a no-brainer that I would be picking up some more. This time the patterned ones didn't appeal to me and instead I went with the plain coloured ones!

Like I said, Primark was very busy and so I decided not to spend so much time looking around the busy areas and instead just picked up two things for myself. The first thing on the left is one of their basic t-shirts that has a lovely spotty pattern on, along with long sleeves so perfect for this time of year! The other buy was a patterned shirt, not only is the pattern very elegant and nice but the shirt also has a peplum feature and looks surprisingly flattering on me!

No doubt I will be going back to Primark soon to stock up on jumpers and boots!

Autumn Picks| NEW BarryM Gelly's

BarryM Autumn Gelly

Seen as though its nearly the end of summer and we are approaching the Autumn season and months, I thought this would be the perfect time to kick off a new little 'series' titled Autumn Picks. By far my favourite season for so many reasons, and what better way to talk about it then blog about it! Each post that you see over the next three months will be all about different things, including makeup, clothes and even some random foody things! To read all the posts from this series click here and soon you will be able to see them all!
BarryM Gelly's

This post is going to be all about the NEW BarryM Gelly's that have launched, I only picked these up yesterday and just had to post a quick swatch and tell about them. For me the change in my nail colour and lip colour is the start to any new season, and this new collection has got me super excited! There's a total of 6 new shades in the collection, and being a big fan of them already I KNEW that I had to pick up at last 3 of the new colours and they were 3 for 2 in Superdrug..sooo?! There are around 6 new shades I think, but these three appealed to me most..who knows I may just buy the others, but I own similar to those colours and the ones I did pick up are different to any others I have every owned.
BarryM Gelly's
T-B Mustard, Paprika and Chilli

I love these three colours, they scream Autumn! The names are so cute and so are the colours! The swatches above are two coats and I think that if you are looking for some transitional colours to take you in to the next two seasons then these are defo for you. My favourite of the three has to be Paprika because its a colour that I don't own and is so pretty when I saw it in real life, but the other two also need an honourable mention!
