Did you know that Hotel Chocolat don’t only make chocolate? They’ve also got a whole beauty range named after the place where their chocolate story started. Since 1745, the Rabot Estate has been producing cocoa beans and providing employment for the local farmers. But in recent years the cocoa production has seen a real decline.... and with that the Rabot 1745 story began.
The Rabot Estate plantation in Saint Lucia is now the inspiration for a full range of beauty items, perfumes and diffusers. Some of these products are based around chocolate, but a lot of the range takes inspiration from the tropical location of Rabot and contain ingredients grown on the estate.
The coffee scrub which retails at £16, comes in an actual coffee cup! Not just any coffee cup, but one that you can use after finishing the scrub up - genius! This scrub is made of delicious smelling Arabica ground coffee. The coffee is then mixed with some salt to help lift dead skin cells and dirt from the body. There's also a mix of argan and almond oil inside which leaves the skin feeling silky soft and smelling amazing. Coffee has many benefits but the biggest is that the caffeine found in coffee scrubs typically increases blood flow, and may reduce the appearance of cellulite and give the skin a more even tone.
The other scrub that I've been given a chance to try is the Salt and Lemongrass one, and I think this is my favourite of the two. Personally, the citrus smell of this wakes me up and gives me a burst of energy. This scrub also comes in a coffee cup that is reusable. Just like the rest of the range it is made from bamboo, corn fibre and is biodegradable. This scrub contains cocoa seed butter that makes my skin so hydrated and nourished. Then the addition of shea butter and almond oil just makes the skin feel amazing.
Both of these scrubs are perfect for everyday but also when you want to give the skin a good clean and remove all dead skin. If you are looking for some new beauty products that are kind for the skin and made with wholesome, natural ingredients then Rabot 1745 is for you!
