Wedding season is my favourite time of year, the pretty outfits, gorgeous venues and of course the food! I have one event this coming weekend and then one at the end of next month, it is such an exciting time! This is going to be my go to look for sure, its very simple but full glam that will last me throughout the day without budging. The look is very similar to what I usually wear on a special occasion but a wedding makes everything that little bit more special.
PRIMER// I've been loving the Catrice Anti Shine Primer, as the first layer in my makeup look. I've been loving so many things from them at the moment, all of which I won in a giveaway hosted by Siobhán. This shrinks the size of my pores and gives my face a smoother texture.
FOUNDATION, CONCEALER + POWDER// Nothing but Double Wear for long lasting makeup days, it does not move out of place. It can be a little heavy if the sun is out, but when worn in really thin layers it is much more bearable. I (stupidly) forgot to include concealer, but I am loving the Fit Me by Maybelline both to give extra coverage and under the eyes. Then taking the trustworthy Rimmel Stay Matte all over my face to set my base into place and then the Revolution Baking Powder under my eyes, it brightens the area immensely and avoids the under eye area becoming crease central.
BRONZER + HIGHLIGHTER// The NYX Matte Bronzer is so pigmented! I could have done with a shade lighter compared to this medium shade as I can't seem to control the amount correctly - oops. A bit of bronzer to give my skin a summer glow never hurt anyone. The Revolution liquid highligther gives such a nice dewy look to the skin and a tiny bit does the job then topped with my very battered Fenty Beauty highlighter to give me that pop!
EYE MAKEUP// I am not the best or in fact very good at doing eye makeup, when you can't see without wearing glasses it is very difficult to see what you're doing. My recently new found love for the ABH Modern Renaissance palette is giving it the love and usage it deserves. Through the crease I take a mixture of 'Raw Sienna & Burnt Orange'. On the lid and the outer edge of the eyelid it was a bit of Love Letter and Venetian Red - both shades are absolutely gorgeous and gives you this very pinky, girly look. But for the glitter loving girl that I am, I needed some more. The Stila Glitter was the perfect addition for this, I stippled this on with a brush instead of applying it straight on the lid and the finish was so much better - it looks sparkly and iridescent.
Now with it being a special occasion, you of course have to add lashes*. I have really been getting into them recently and these Red Cherry ones might just be the easiest and best to wear under glasses. I tried two different pairs on with this particular eye look. The third I am saving for my holiday and don't want to open them yet. The ones in the left hand side are limited edition, even though they feel amazing and look so full of volume and give length they just wouldn't stick to my lashes properly. A right pain! The pair used in the right hand set of photos are the Wispy lashes (available from falseeyelashes £3.99), my favourite of them all. They look incredible and sit really well under my glasses, no prodding or provoking - just perfect.
To finish the whole look is of course a good lip combination, MAC Boldly Bare and Velvet Teddy are of course a nude lip but it just goes with everything and can be topped up during the day without hesitation. This whole look is just so easy to do and I know will go with every outfit I end up wearing.
What are your go to's for lashes? I really want more!
