Stress, cold weather and litres of coke is not helping my skin at all at the moment. Its my own fault because everything that I am doing/eating is reflecting on my face but slowly it will get there. November starts on Tuesday (how crazy!) and its the perfect time to swap your skincare round and make it more winter friendly. I've become obsessed with skincare recently and this a wish list of all the things that I am lusting over on the 'high end' scale.
Let's start with cleansing, the most important part of any skincare routine.
Its a step that needs to remove makeup, dirt and oil but still keep your skins natural oils in tact and not be too drying. The Murad Blemish Cleanser has been on my list since I heard Karishma taking about it, its part of their blemish fighting kit that targets pesky breakouts and keeps your skin plump whilst killing breakouts. Interested in trying this whole range out to see if the whole 'only use one brand' thing works or not. One of the other cleansers that I have heard a great deal about and am desperate to try is the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, its meant to be a lightweight balm to oil that works wonders in taking off everything from eye makeup to lipstick. It also claims to be non-greasy which I find odd because it turns to an oil?
In a magazine recently there was a sample of the Bare Minerals Cleanser to try and I loved it! They have recently launched a new skincare line and its actually good, to say they are a makeup brand. It turns from a red clay formula to cream and removes the makeup from your face. This is more of a second cleanse where as the Clinique one is a first cleanse product.
On the topic of removing makeup, I've always wanted to try out the Clarosonic range. A machine that assists you in cleansing your skin and is meant to get down to the nitty gritty, they are very pricey so its more of an investment. The more I start to look after my skin and use products that it responds well to, the more eager I am to try this gadget. If you've tried it then please let me know what you thought of it!
Using masks in the winter can be the game changer for your skin.
Every brand had a range of different masks for different issues, hence why multi-masking has become such a big thing. Your skin is different in all the different sections, so its important to target things specifically. I love trying what bloggers recommend and the Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Mask is one that I have heard a great deal about because of its two power fighting ingredients. Turmeric has oodles of benefits for the skin, its anti-inflammatory, great acne healer and amazing for dry skin. Combined with cranberry seeds which is full of anti-oxidants its a treat for your skin. I need this mask in my life - now. Then there's the Glamglow Power Mud, which says that its for all skin types and is actually a treatment for your skin but it sounds more like a deep cleansing mask than cleanser. Its a mix of ingredients that cleansers, detoxifies, exfoliates and awakens your skin. Glamglow products in general are meant to be amazing and worth the price tag.
After all the cleansing, stripping and masking its time to show your skin some TLC.
The under eye area is a part of my face that I am always forgetting about, wearing glasses means that its an area that I don't usually focus on but now its time to because the bags are bad. I love the look and sound of the Clinique Prep Start Eye Cream, it de-puffs, brightens and perks your eyes up ready for the day ahead. A step that I nee to start taking more seriously in my routine. One beauty item I ended up not buying whilst in duty free a few months back was the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, how I wish I had! Its one of those multi-purpose products that can be used for any dry skin you have and a wonder on lips apparently - just what I need for the winter. Finally, we have the skincare item that out of all of them I am going to have to buy first. The Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil is a holy grail for so many and the benefits that it does on your skin overnight are meant to be incredible. I want to try this out on my dull and acne scarred skin to see how rejuvenating it can be and if it lives up to its claims.
A very rambly, expensive and long list of items but all wants. Any skincare items you are lusting over?
