Another haul? Yes indeed. I have been buying little bits all through the month of June because it was my birthday month, who doesn't treat themselves. The Boots near where I work has recently added a NYX stand, I just had to have a visit. I was expecting this little stand like other brands, but no it was at least 4 stands filled and placed near all the 'high end beauty'.
NYX is definitely on the pricier side compared to other 'drugstore brands, well in this country anyway. Hence its position in the store but it was like heaven and the counter area was packed full of people, I was just hoping I could find something worth the lunch time trip!
NYX Illuminating Bronzer in Magnetic £8.50 (here)
Highlighting is my current obsession, can't seem to get enough of it. Upon browsing the stands to see what there is on offer, the illuminating compacts screamed at me. I opened up the little shelf that shows you the product, fell in love and put it in the basket. No swatch, nothing - I just knew it was going to be amazing.
As you can see by the three-finger swatch above it is amazing. They are sold as Bronzers but the glitter running through this is too much to use as a bronzer, hence why a highlight is a better option. Its a gorgeous golden, peach shade that gives a nice warmth to the skin and adds a lovely sparkle. It has also made me want to buy the others in the range and try the matte bronzers.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes £5.50 (here)
Finally, I have a lip cream in my possession!! Everyone and their next door neighbour raves about this range, I had to fall in for the hype and try it out for myself. The wonderful Nishi recently did a look book of some of these and the suede and this pushed me to the edge of wanting to try them (read her full post). The stand had just been restocked and every shade was on display, it was lipstick heaven.
The shade I picked up was Cannes, a pinky, brown nude that is gorgeous. Probably would suit many different skin tones and after two layers it sits on the lips great and looks gorgeous. I am also loving the smell of this, very sweet and fruity. It glided on to the lips like a dream, applied well and the colour lasted me all day through eating and drinking too. 5/5 so far!
NYX Round Lipstick £4.00 in B52 (here)
The next purchase is one I was very excited about. on Pinterest a while back, I spotted this dupe. The NYX Lipstick in B52 is an identical dupe for MAC Twig - a shade I have always wanted to get my hands on and if a brand has a similar one for more than 1/2 the price, I'll have that.
This is such a creamy formula and my perfect nude shade, as is Cannes and many other shades that I own. The mauve lipstick shade is my favourite to wear as it suits me. It has now become my handbag lipstick, top up through out the day and in case of an emergency! For £4 you can't go wrong.
NYX have stolen my beauty addict heart for good and I shall be paying a trip again to the stand for a bigger shop!
Anything you love from them that I must try?
